I watched this video a while back and forgot to comment after watching it. You all reminded me about switching my power controller over to LI when I upgraded my batteries to lithium in my Lance 1172. Loved how you explained your channel title. 😂 Loving your videos! We have been watching quite awhile.👍

I have a 2008 825. I haven't upgraded to lithium yet because our charger doesn't have a provision for it. I did put in a 100AH lith battery, but I let it go all of the way to zero and no way to charge it. My Solar couldn't see it at that level, so I had to start a charge with a dumb charger for an hour before my solar could see it. So for now I am sticking with a 70AH AGM RV/marine that seems to be doing the job quite nicely, and I have decided to not upgrade till I could afford to do it all, by which I mean transfer switch, roof mounted solar etc. But since I don't live in it, it works perfect for this weekend warrior. Anyway it is fun to see other partners in crime with the same camper. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to see more of the way you did it. Hi from Arizona

You could have just bought an Ecoflow with no controllers. We use a EcoFlow max on our Lance, with a simple 30amp Shore power cable. The Lance thinks it’s on shore power. Set up is about 3.5 minutes . …and we can run the microwave, coffee maker, and even the AC, without a gas generator. Also, the ecoflow can charge in 1 hour which NO Lithium batteries can with controller system.

All in one systems like eco flow are convenient but if one thing goes out the whole system is down until repaired if one component goes its easier to find a work around or get a new part. I do have a small bluetti asa backup

Great Video! How is the Renogy batteries and solar holding up now that it has been a year? Looking to do upgrade to our 1999 Lance 1172.

Thanks! Overall our setup has been good. The Renogy batteries work perfectly, but if we were to do it again, we would invest in higher quality solar panels. We don’t think they are producing as much power as they should be. We may save up and upgrade to Renogy’s some day in the future. Good luck with your upgrade and safe travels!

Awesome ! I would guess that most of us would have no idea how to make that up grade , especially knowing about that itty bitty switch from one type to the new type batteries ! Just curious but how did you learn about that step ? Thanks for sharing the knowledge !

Thank you! We talked to someone at our local Camper World about the installation process and the switch. The sticker on the outside of our fuse box also helped us out 🙂

For safety you should cover those terminals. You wouldn’t want to drop a screwdriver or wrench across the two terminals and cause and arc.

Is the switch for the fuse panel in the top left corner or right? Mine i cant seem to find. I have the same camper

It’s in the left corner. It’s so incredibly small, about the size of a gnat 😆 very easy to miss. Good luck!

Look like you were charging at only 13.4 amps while plugged into shore? With lithium I put in a new converter that took it from around there to charging at 14.7 shore. Maybe that shot on here was off shore though

@thewaywedidit 5 ай бұрын
Oh nice! No we were not plugged into shore power in this video, just going off the one 100W solar panel. We did upgrade our solar after this install though. Also - your truck camper is awesome!! A little jealous of that pass through!

Thanks so much! Our old AGM battery was 64lbs, and the two lithium batteries combined is 57lbs. Our Lance did not come with a gas generator.

Hello, where do you configure that they have 2 batteries?
@thewaywedidit
@thewaywedidit 9 ай бұрын
Our 2 batteries are located underneath the rear dinette seat. We removed all of the original battery housing to make room for the two new ones.

@@thewaywedidit And did you have to configure in the Power Connect that you installed 2 batteries?
@thewaywedidit
@thewaywedidit 9 ай бұрын
@@FranciscoLopez-bo4wd No we connected them in parallel so the voltage did not change. Still 12 volts. But we did have to switch the breaker/fuse box from powering an AGM battery to lithium batteries.
