How we installed a new battery bank and solar panels using Victron and Pylontech batteries

Our battery bank has been working for a year now and more recently we added some more solar panels to help charge them during the winter months.
I did install this system myself using Victron Multiplus ii and Victron lynx modules together with Pylontech batteries. After loads of research into nearly every aspect of the install, I took the plunge and decided to give it a go. Most of it went fairly smoothly, although, I did find that the problems I did come across, I found the answers in the various forums online.
If in doubt get a proper installer to do the hard work. Some of the voltages involved can be fatal, so tread carefully and as always, do your own research.
I used the following suppliers, although they are not the only suppliers of this equipment, I did find them fast and efficient in their delivery and have no complaints with them. I have no connection with any of the companies mentioned in this video.
I've written a book!! On how to start a vineyard and is available on Amazon on the following link: amzn.eu/d/5ZER7c8

Brilliant video, very informative. You do have a lot of things to discuss, how is the gas from wood coming on? Would love to see a Pt 3

Thank you for your comment. Hopefully doing another wood gas video soon.

Great video, thanks! Didn't you have to apply for g99 to allow connection of the hybrid inverter?

Hi - really great video thanks. Really like what you have done. I'm wanting to essentially run new circuits and keep my installation separate from the house circuits. Zero export etc. I'm curious, is your Victorian setup as grid assist/shore power (not sure correct terminology) with solar/battery being the priority? If so, from a Victron perspective do you have any pointers that could help me please? I'm considering AC in as just a 13A plug for when overnight charge required for my new setup? Also, does the inverter make a lot of noise? (considering placing in a outbuilding I use as an office space)

Hi Dom. Sounds like your setup would be simpler than my one as you want to keep the house seperate. I'm definitely not an expert, but it sounds like your setup would be similar to a shorepower setup, the beauty of victron is that a search on Google gives you so many schematic diagrams of different setups. Setups for vans or boats that provide normal mains power sockets via the inverter but also allows input from the mains to charge batteries if needed sounds pretty close to what you need. The programming on the cerbo gx is extensive and every permutation should be available. The app is fairly limited as to what you can program, but the cerbo hx is faultless in my opinion. As for the noise, most of the time the system is pretty silent, however when we pulling say 4+ kw, the internal fans kick in on the multiplus and although not loud it is not silent. It doesn't go on for long as either the system cools down or the draw in the circuits evemtually drop (eg washing machine cycle ends etc). Good luck though, read plenty on the victron forums and you should be ok. A

I bought a grape vine about 6 years ago. I trained it as a single cordon on a south facing wall. (Autumn Royal). I have done everything that you have suggested and still no grapes. Help.

Hi there. Oh my goodness, that doesn’t sound right. Are you getting any buds or flowers at all? If not, have you got evidence of insect damage? The flowers or little clusters prior to flowering arrive fairly early in the season - mid to late may in the uk. Check that it is getting plenty of nitrogen early on and then a good feed throughout the year. Other than that maybe some other folks may have some suggestions…..

So are u using the multiplus like a grid tie inverter with a ct clamp on your mains ?

Hi there. I think what I'll do is post a schematic of my setup. I do have et112 on the mains incoming, but I'll dig out my notes i made a year ago.
