Damn, Ryan, this is truly amazing. You have managed to compress an extremly compelling story in these short 17 minutes, with beautiful cinematography and grading, stunning visual effects and amazing performances. Props to the actors as well, this was high-level acting, the goodbye between mother and daughter literally made me cry, which is unusual considering the little time we spent with these characters! Yes, there are minor flaws, as many other have pointed out, but I want to focus on this: Thanks for showing us what is possible to achieve with your kind of dedication. It is amazing to see the little empire you built with Film Riot over the years and it's extremly inspiring how far the entire crew has come! Love from Germany!

This was genuinely incredible, and I have to commend Ryan, the Film Riot team and the entire crew of BALLiSTIC for pushing the boundaries of what is possible for a "low budget" filmmaker. Congratulations on BALLiSTIC. You really outdid yourself and everyone working on the film did an amazing job. I am really into the universe you created within the film. I love that it leaves a sense of wonder and raises questions that make you want to know more about the details of what is going on. Ryan, I feel that the way you leave a lot to the audience to figure out or interpret is really what I love about BALLiSTIC and other shorts you made. It's really cool, and not like every Hollywood movie that tries to hold your hand. Thanks for an awesome short film.

I love how you explain every aspect. equipment, lens, filters, lighting, audio, actors, scenes, effects, scheduling, order, talking with actors, and name brands ( not just a mic but rode, in a blimp, in a deadcat) thats going the extra mile. Nice. Thanks. Takes a lot of the mystery out of it. I think you were using some lens hood not sure though what type. But man this channel is good. Keep up the good work. I would love to know how to film inside a car, and through a windscreen without the camera being seen. And also what the audio gear is going into and how you sync it all up in post. Again excellent job guys and i loved this short film

Great job as usual. Really enjoyed the BTS. fantastic. I am surprised with the C200 choice over Panasonic Eva1...but it's never about the camera...it's always about the DOP or the operator. Fantastic work...anamorphic shots looked great. Performance/acting was A+. Directing was A+..it's amazing what happens when we put ourselves outside our comfort zone...which Ryan clearly did in this project. Congrats.

Solid work with enough going on in the piece to want to go back and watch it again with delight. I’m glad it wasn’t wrapped up neatly in the end. How could it with so much involved? I felt the same way with the short version of Lights Out and the Portal short film. If you’re wanting for more than good, we should feel that way because as Ryan can and should make a feature, so does a film like Ballistic should BE a feature.
