@@muhammedahmed3291 how I make it calls for some dandelion blossoms to be slow simmered in water for an hour. Then I like to leave it to steep for at least 8 hours. Then I take the blossoms out and measure the amount of dandelion tea I have. I start adding sugar. I cup sugar for every 2 cups tea. I add the juice of 1 lemon for every 8 cups. Then boil the liquid slowly so it evaporates some of the water. Everything can be adjusted to suit your tastes. Stop boiling it when you like how thick it is. It can burn easily so be careful. I use it as a pancake syrup or on cake. Edit: sometimes when I have the time I only use dandelion petals. But that takes a lot of flowers.

Dandelions are often considered a weed but are one of the few plants introduced to almost every continent that isn't actually invasive, they can be eaten by practically anything and don't directly compete with native flora or even other crops, and above all else, they are healthy to consume. They should be a welcome sight on a lawn or garden, i suggest that dandelion lawns are more favorable and easier to take care of than grass lawns.

Just did my first wild parsnip harvest today! The fragrance of the root and the cooked greens were incredible. My next harvest will have to also include some dandelions, especially before people start to remove them or worse, spray them as the spring growth begins to emerge even more ... These wonderful plants have so much to offer! If we don't want them growing in a certain area, at least we could consume them to appreciate their presence!

True they are good for honeybees, a species that coevolved with dandelions in europe, but they arent great for all our lovely, and endangered at times, native bees. Always try and plant native plants, dont rely on the ones in your garden or in your yard, and dont just buy plants good for bugs. They may not be bad, but not amazing either

This ma said he studied dandelions and nature makes them grow where the soil needs calcium. The dandelions will die and fall away after they do their job. He says that’s why pl have need to enrich their soil because they strip it of nutrient growing plants such as the dandelion. Now by your recommendation they are good for us to consume. Thanks fir that. There should be more aaareness of this. Thank you

Plants like dandelions and plantago are scarce or just non-existent where I live. But there are plenty of tasty, edible and/or medicinal "weeds" that people just dispose of where I live too. Puslane, shepherd's needle, sandspur (can't blame people that hate this one), Malabar spinach, peppergrass amaranth, sorrel, etc. Research the common "weeds" around where you live. The stuff that would fill an empty and untamed property. You might be surprised what sort of bountiful harvests might be available to you without even having to work for them. Be careful though. There's the standard rule to make sure you have correctly identified your plants, ESPECIALLY anything with latex or is a member of the carrot family. But also take care of plants like shepherd's needle which is known to absorb toxins from the soil; great for cleaning an old lot, not so good for picking and eating off the side of the road.

You have to be careful with _"just any plant"_ *Not all plant parts are edible.* Take Rhubarb for example- The Leaves and Roots are toxic, _yet you can eat the Stems with no problems!_ Plus there are some plants that should not be eaten raw - but are safe if cooked. *Best to research any plant you are planning to ingest to see if there are any warnings.* Also if they are a Medicinal type plant, then check to be sure it is not something that can harm you....such as if it lowers blood pressure or thins the blood, etc. Though it may help such an ailment, if you are someone who is taking Prescription Medications for that affliction - you may need to take less or none if using plants and herbs as one's medicine. Plus there are many "weeds" that folks rip out of their lawns or driveways that are edible.....and delicious! You can research "Edible Weeds" online or on KZfaq for more info. *Hope this helps~*
