skycedi Hi, I heard your personal story on your channel. Kudos to your parents on maintaining such a strong relationship through hard times. I feel like if people can overcome struggles at time when interracial marriage is not popular, I can too. Listening to story like that gives me courage as I'm planning to bring my boyfriend home to see my parents, he's African American and I'm Vietnamese. It would be nice to know what your dad did and how he won your mom's family over :)

Lynh Nguyen hi Lynn, I’m glad that you were able to hear my story :) I’m happy that you are taking the next step in your relationship with your boyfriend and getting ready to introduce him to your family. A few things that my dad did to win my mom’s family over (or at least these things were a major factor). He was the type of person that didn’t let other people’s opinion of him cause he to react or bother him. So that was his starting place when dealing with the opposition from my mom’s mother. So basically, my dad had the personality to let anything that anyone would say roll off easily. This allowed him to not take things super personally when it came to my grandmother’s initial opinion of him. My dad also showed my mom’s family respect through treating my mother right and making her happy, and also by being nice to her family. I think this positive and loving attitude my dad had towards my grandmother eventually outweighed any negative prejudices that my grandmother had. It’s kind of like when you are really upset at someone and they have a genuine smile towards you...you can try to stay angry but eventually, you will give in to the smile and not be so mad. It’s kind of like that, but on a bigger scale. My grandmother eventually realized that my dad was a great man who loved her daughter deeply, so she began to be more accepting. By the way, it’s worth mentioning that my grandmother didn’t live in the states at the time (visited periodically) while they dated from 1980-1984. After 4 years of dating, my grandmother eventually accepted my dad. What made things even better was when my parents decided to move my grandmother to the US from Korea in the early 90s and she lived with us until 2006 when she passed. At that point, my dad provided for both my mom (and me and sis of course) and my grandmother. She loved him so much at that point! I hope that makes sense! It’s what I could remember from my conversations with my dad (who is no longer with us) and from my mom. It didn’t happen overnight with them, but it eventually turned out to be a beautiful thing.

That makes a total of 2 black chicks that like Asians.

I'm Filipino/German. Ended up with black hair, green eyes, go figure. Some black chicks are pretty hot, but they almost NEVER seem to like Asian or Asian mix. I'm married now (to Chinese), but there are pretty much only 2 main ethnicities that I've never been able to date: Black (of any ancestry), and Indian (the real ones). The latter I could probably do without. You know, I'm afraid of smells. LOL!

Forbidden Love - Justin & Sarah's Story I just saw your other video of the meeting with the parents. Honest to god I almost cried. It's heartbreaking to not have the man of your dreams parents blessing but at the end of the day that's your soul mate. If they really loved their son they need to accept who he chooses to marry regardless of race. It was sad to see the mother say those things about you. (I would have broken down, but you held your composure and kept smiling) Just be strong, love conquers all. You two seem very happy together and I hope you guys make it through. It hurts I know. My boyfriend's mom at first thought I was the typical stereotypical black girl but changed her judgment once meeting me. You seem sweet, I just wish they did not have this view of blacks.

It was really hurtful for us to hear Justin's mom shut me out like that without even allowing me to meet them for the first time. Apparently, his mom had told him before that I'm not worth meeting up first because I'm not Korean. I mean, my ethnicity is not something I can change, like the color of my hair or what not. No matter how hard I try, I can't look Korean overnight either. I just wish his mom could give me a chance, and at least get to know me first before choosing to dislike me. Luckily, Justin is not afraid to stand up to his parents on my behalf. It's so tough. That's life, I guess...

People always try to make black or sometimes people mixed with black inferior.Remember we are a proud, strong people and don't let them make you feel less than.If you have to go on with your life do it with your man or without.There's nothing wrong with you their loss.

I guess if her husband converted to islam her dad wouldnt have a problem..but its ironic how he is so religious but is divorced which is a huge no no in islam as well as christianity and judaism..
