I've been using Asana as an individual for about 6 weeks now thanks to your recommendation. I use it for school and for my software business. It's great! But I need to learn more, so please keep the Asana content coming!

Wow, one of your best videos yet in my opinion. I currently use Nozbe, but you just made Asana seem far better. And, seems I can use several team members for free to get started and then grow from there. Thank you Steve.

Thanks for this video. I've been looking at a way to create just a simple todo list that would work on my phone and computer. I've tried Evernote, and Todoist, as well as the old Wunderlist (Pre-Microsoft). I found this video and said "Let me check this out." Asana's free version does everything I need it to do right now and then some. In fact what Asana does for free, Todoist charges $36.00 a year. Shh don't tell them I like it being free.

Oh, and the premium is way too expensive now. You purchase at a minimum of 5 seats/users, even if your team is smaller.

Hi Steve. Love ASANA! I use the free version all the time, some for work related projects, and the list feature for household. What screencast tool did you use to create yourself in the small circle mask? I know Camtasia and ScreenFlow do those resizable squares, but this is a small and good look. Thx!

I record in Screenflow, and we do a rough cut there, then we finish in Adobe Premier.

Hi Steve! I spend my time looking for this kind of tools, but just about a day ago I started using Asana. Now, the thing is that I would like to see what you think about another tool (that would like to integrate with Asana) that takes that flexibility even further to the whole organic proccess of projects: it's called Miro, a huge white canvas. I'm pretty much falling in love with it and, again, would like to hear your comments, it is definitively a very interesting tool.

Steve I absolutely love your videos and especially those on Asana. I am perplexed though on how you have created sections in the Task in the board view. I see it on your screen, but I can't find the function to do it. Would love to know how you did it!

I was hoping to start using Asana as a to-do-list manager for personal and work use. My team does not use Asana, but I was hoping to roll it out for an SOP process moving forward. Would you recommend using Asana to manage emails as well? We are forced to use Outlook, and I would love to use Asana's beautiful interface to also make sure I tackle all the tasks I need to. Currently, I convert all the emails that I need to act on into tasks in Outlook with links to the orignial message. Any ideas?

Steve, as usual really really helpful. Can you please please elaborate: 1. What happens to completed tasks? 2. How to integrate Asana with Google-sphere ... keep, docs, sheets, slides, pics, mail, etc. Is this worthy of a further webinar? 3. If you ever need to migrate out of Asana, how do you do this painlessly (remember our love of Evernote - but divorce is impossible)?
@dottotech
@dottotech 4 жыл бұрын
Completed tasks are marked as such, you can move them or delete them. You can attach google docs to tasks I am not sure there is an elegant way to export.

Hi Steve, I have been a long time watcher of many of your videos - thank you for taking the time to create them, they're just great. I am presently trying to decide whether to use Asana or Clickup. A proper comparison between these two on youtube does not seem to exist - as an avid asana user, I would really value your take on this and, with Clickup being the new kid on the block and throwing out features every week, I suspect others would value this too. The question, should we go with Asana the mature and proven king with its simple UI and useful mobile app, or the excitable teenager ClickUp, with a host of new features, weekly updates and a super competitive pricing structure.... please discuss :-)
@dottotech
@dottotech 4 жыл бұрын
tough call. Clichup looks like a lot of fun. but Asana has been so reliable. I would still lean towards Asana. just because ClickUp is adding features so fast I get concerned that they are going too fast.

@@dottotech Thanks for your take, your opinion along with that of one of my valued team members has resulted in us making the decision to move across to Asana from ClickUp. In your opinion, is there value in having the premium or business accounts for a small team (we have 4-6 manual workers, 2 people in an office and a couple of freelance knowledge workers). thanks, Mark

So - nice - but, stay with me. Your primary workspace in the board - but as soon as you open a "task" (actually the whole project) to get dumped to "a" card. It should drop you into a board for that project. So rather than the sub-tasks, you really want sub-boards, inwhich you can manipulate the tasks and sub-tasks. The board metaphor is powerful but stops to early. Similarly - in say Evernote - we can share a note - even if the receiver doesn't have Evernote - if you sent me the link to a sub-task, as a non-user - what do I get? And as you seem not to use the "list" view - why not Trello where boards are more sophisticated, is it just the integration to Slack? Many thanks - good stuff, keep up the fine work.

It's a little difficult to use at first. The user interface is a little confusing, until you have practice with it and you understand the basic concepts. I tried zentao and don't want to use any other project management tool because it easier to understand and has more features.

Really upset and confused with the fact that Asana is not that versatile with running multiple companies. They will not let you see tasks across workspaces that you control without you jumping around. Why not? I used to use the project area to control differentiating companies then dig in through tasks, now they have changed the layout out and workings this is now impossible. Also, why remove the colon implementation of creating sections?
