Just to clarify, just days before this video was made, the username “rin” was made by I believe the Roblox Admin team, then proceeding to change the original placeholder name from “rintemporary” to “rin”

Roblox usernames always fascinate me. They're kind of just for fun and are now less important because of Display Names. I can't believe there's literal black markets of people going "I'll pay you $10,000 for that!" at an account just named Penis.

Instead of removing spaces they should get rid of spaces at the end or start of a username and after another space

Imagine having a Good username that you came up with yourself and then some brand who made their company after your username just takes your username.

this is a somewhat old video, but those 2016 2 letter usernames (and the other "duplicate" usernames) aren't actually duplicates, they're quite similar to the 2006 ones with spaces at the beginning/end the exploit went somewhat like this: you would inspect element on the signup page, change the signup username input box to a textarea (which allows you to have multiple lines), then you would register a username with a linebreak at the end and it would work that is why there were only two letters and duplicate usernames registered with that, one letters couldn't be created because the linebreak would count as the third character in the 2 letters, and the reason you couldn't access them from the api in the example is because the url is missing the linebreak (%0A in uri encoding), so for example, looking for the username "Ow%0A" on that url would return the account the same thing also happened when display names first came out, except you'd just manually put the linebreak at the end with the api, so this also allowed "2 letter" display names, all of those ones were reset though im sure you probably already know all this by now but its one of my favorite roblox username exploits and i like explaining it lol

I actually accidentally bumped into the owner of the account “kfc” recently. Apparently, him and someone else in the game I was in were discussing buying accounts, which one of them brings up (I’m pretty sure his username was “bypassing” or something along the lines about that) them owning the multiple rare accounts, including “kfc” and “Compass”. What makes it more interesting is at the time and I’m pretty sure still now the guy had the account “Compass” on his friends list. I’m pretty sure the guy also discussed separate rare account names he owned, yet I don’t remember them. I’m also pretty sure he was trying to also sell his the account he was currently using. He also wore a large UGC sign above his head, in the wood faintly read the text “dwc - synttax” or something along the lines of that. I don’t know if that has to do with anything, yet if it’s trying to be hidden, it must maybe have some significance. Note that the account “kfc” has also been sold I’m pretty sure, as I think I remember him bringing up selling the “kfc” account for about 400-500 dollars. I think I might research it further if I feel like it, just overall a wild story that I wanted to tell for a while now. Thank you.
