Premiere Pro can pretty much playback any media from any source HOWEVER there are limitations and at times your timeline won’t playback properly.
In fact, you’ll see different colored lines above your timeline.
Depending on the color, it means you need to render.
What is rendering? Find out why and how you should render your timeline.

Sir, this is a GREAT video. Thanks so much. I've been futzing around with Premier for a few years now, and I've been continually frustrated with this rendering issue. The whole program is way to complex for it's own good, honestly. Anyway, your video made all this so clear. I love the way you laid everything out. Thanks again! VR

Thank you! Watching this makes me realize how much education I need when it comes to Premiere Pro! I didn't use clog3 in the current wedding I'm editing and it's easier but not near as pretty as usual. I'm looking around for tips on how to fix orangey skin tones rn.

Great video! My 4k timeline was grinding to a halt because I'm on ECO mode (laptop battery) and the computer isn't giving me all she's got. Now, I'm editing smooth and fast again. THANKS

Why doesn't Premiere Pro save all the rendered files after saving my project, then turning my computer off? When I open my project the next day, all the rendered files that was green has now turned back to red.

Ever since I updated to the 2022 version "render in to out" has been missing from the drop down for me and "render selection" is always greyed out. Any ideas on how to solve this? It's been driving me nuts and I can't find a solution anywhere

Is there anyway to render using Media Encoder, so I dont need to stop and stare at the dialog box? Thanks

Thanks for the tips! Wanted to ask if it makes any difference to have an SSD or an HDD for the "Media Cache and Scratch Disks" Drive? (I'm talking about Media cache and Scratch disks drive, not the drive where I store my project and footage, which obviously is better to use SSD)
@DigiProTips
@DigiProTips Жыл бұрын
Great question. I’m assuming you mean the drive where the tendered files are being stored for Premiere to playback from? In any case it is always better to have the fastest storage possible but obviously that comes at a price. To be honest, the type of storage that Premiere is storing the rendered files is not as important as the storage medium that the original files are on. Because once they are rendered they are easier for Premiere to read anyway. But having your footage on an SSD for Premiere to read and render from will speed up the process significantly. It’s always recommended to separate your workflow out across fast storage devices. So have your OS and applications on one fast internal SSD, your original media on another fast SSD if possible and then your output destination can be anywhere you choose as long as it is fast enough to write to at speed. Not sure if that answered the question at hand or not?

But why can't it just keep rendering all the time in the background while I'm working on other frame areas?
@DigiProTips
@DigiProTips Жыл бұрын
If only! Rendering takes a lot of computing power so it would mean there’s no power left for other tasks if it continually rendered in the background.

@@DigiProTips The fact my system barely hits the 20% usage in GPU, CPU and VPU while rendering 4K-Content with 36 video tracks tells me the "lot of computing power" seems to be invalid in 2023. (5950x/3080 Ti) I assume it's mostly Adobe's Lack of optimization.
