Leicester City are a team whose previous success was built on a certain style, but who are ripe for adaptation, with exciting young players capable of playing differently. And Brendan Rodgers, himself an adaptive manager, will happily change approaches based on opponent to get the most from his charges. Please do a video on Sheffield United as they have such a unique playing style with overlapping centre backs and it is clearly an amazing tactic as Wilder has overachieved so much (winning the title with Northampton and Sheffield United in his first year, then getting them to 2nd in the championship after a season)

Bit weird to skip over about 2.5 years that leicester have been adapting to become a possession based side. You make it sound like Rogers is taking over a counter attacking team and will have to make them learn possession football. Under puel leicester did nothing but keep possession which was boring, hence the fans turning on puel. We sat in a deep block and played with slow build up when we eventually got the ball back and struggled to make chances because of how much time the opposition had to get back. Rogers biggest thing he needs to change isn't what we do with the ball, it's what we do without it. Pressing high up the pitch will give us far more chances and space to utilise our quick attacking players (barnes, gray, vardy) and will help get the most out of ndidi. Already against Fulham we made 3/4 big chances from ndidi nicking the ball back in the middle. My point is, if anything Rogers will be taking us closer to what we were in 15/16 not further away. It'll almost be a blend between puels possession and control and Ranieris high press and quick through balls into the channels.

Puel is a great manager and I hope to God he gets a big club or at least a club that values him and gives him longevity. Maybe Nice will bring him back to replace the honestly and quite surprisingly lackluster Viera.

Tifo, thanks again for another wonderful video. You guys have tremendous character! That being said, Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers are a perfect match. Next season, if they happen to be in a precarious situation again, they must stick with him, whatever the outcome.

Agreed. Keeping the core of Chilwell, Maddison, Barnes, Gray, Maguire, has potential for amazing chemistry into the future. Wouldn't be surprised if Man City snap up Chilwell since they have oodles of cash.

for me this is what makes a great manager, ranieri won the premier league with nobodies back then and with a tight budget. the peps, ancelottis and co are good managers but they have everything setup for them to win titles.

You should do a video about why Moneyball works so good for baseball,cause the 1v1 nature of the game. And explain how Football, Basketball and American Football have too many tactics that can change the potential 1v1's to allow strict Moneyball management to work. An example of this would be, I could play for the New York Yankees and the worst team in baseball for a game and my stats would be equally awful; but If I played for Barcelona and Burnley, my stats would look a lot better at Barcelona. Call out the most expensive English Player ever Andy Carroll.

Looks to me that Brendan Rogers will be a threat in both the top bit and bottom bit of the pitch and the middle bit too if he can continue to switch the play and do the possession based football depending on who they are playing. I think his key attribute will be the direct football with Vardy and the others doing similar to how they did

Great video as always. Rodgers said it was to early to decide on Tielemans but imo he has bedded in well even when he didn't get assists his passing is so good. He has had some great assists so far. And at 21yp he will only get better is fit & the PL suits his style. They could prob take down the £35m a bit or send a player there way. But if they don't go for him another PL club should especially mid table. He would be great for West Ham beside Rice.

Playing wing backs makes a lot of sense when youve got Chilwell and Perreira - will be interesting to see if Rodgers is willing to stick to a three at the back formation

It does seem like a system that would work. As generally solid as Evans and Maguire are, that third centre half is the issue, with Morgan or soyuncu there's just a horrendous lack of pace back there

Interesting point to say he'll change approach based on opponent when he didn't against the likes of Barca and PSG that led to our record defeats in Europe. A very good manager but his stubbornness lets him down. Just discovered this channel and really enjoying the content (although painful to watch the Rodgers one being a Celtic supporter ) 👍🏻

Hey Tifo Football... if you end up reading this, I was hoping you could possibly look into making a video about Freiburg coach Christian Streich. He is bar none the most popular coach in Germany and is a type of football philosopher rarely seen. However, there isn't a lot of English content on KZfaq about him and I think his background and philosophy would be really interesting for non-Germans to learn about. Beyond that, I'd love to see your input about his tactics anyway! Thank you!

Seems promising. I like Brendan Rodgers' style. Very adaptive. Defensive and yet creative when attacking. Problem with Ranieri and Puel was they were too one-dimensional: defensive and counterattacking only. You get found out after one season. So both had mediocre second seasons. You have to vary the attacks. Liverpool is now paying for its lack of creativity. And so it's drawing too many games these days. I like a 3-3-2-2 formation myself.

Drinkwater and Albrighton were amazing that season. They're both incredibly underrated and contributed indefinitely to the title win. People think Kante carried the team but all great centre midfielders are great in partnerships. Kante did the defending and Drinkwater created the chances. Albrighton and Mahrez provided the crosses, Vardy the goals, and hence how they became champions. But Drinkwater was on fire seems unfair to me that Sarri won't give him a game.

My issue with Brendan Rodgers is that he may try something similar to that "three envelopes" thing he did at Liverpool, and I feel that's what made Jamie Carragher retire after his [Rodgers] first season.

Rodgers 1st season at Celtic was immaculate, performance & results. 2nd season despite another clean sweep with all the trophies the football was slow and pedestrian. Annoying to watch. Rodgers unwillingness to adapt tactically ment we suffered heavy defeats in europe.

You said Rodgers showed at Celtic he could be flexible adapt his possession football to a more direct style. Nothing could be more false. Celtic NEVER adapted to circumstance I opponents and played the same way whether 3-0 up or 2-0 down whether playing red umps or Barcelona. Rodgers never had an asymmetric plan to play better teams. He won in Scotland because he had a vastly superior squad to rivals. In Europe he played the same style and Celtic got the biggest hammerings in their history v Barcelona and psg. Rodgers did well at Liverpool with great players like Gerard coutinho Suarez etc. It remains to be seen if he can do it at Leicester with its good but depleted squad. The premiership team win was built around vardy and Kante. How will vary and tigers get on? Will he try to sell him to China and get sacked?

Rodgers stubbornly refused to change the way Celtic played in Europe it was plain to see when we came up against far superior sides. That's his downfall to be fair, also other thing he also left it to late in games to make subs when it wasn't going Celtics way in European games.

Ugh, we have abandoned Counter attack long ago. Under Puel Leicester played a very slow and timid form of possession based football that focused on keeping the ball and guarding it, but not doing much with it. So, as I say, stop stereotyping Leicester as a team that plays low blocks and counters .
