I went to two matches when I was in England. Stoke, when they were in the EPL, and Sheffield Wednesday, during their previous run in the Championship, so I was happy to see them both get big wins over the weekend.

If any team truly deserves to stay in the Championship this year, it's clearly the Owls. And that's for the incredible progress they've made under new manager Danny Röhl. Remember where Wednesday were when Xisco was sacked? I do. That team was absolutely disjointed, had no spark and was picking up one defeat after another. It's unbelievable how the Owls have woken up and the way they've presented themselves since the manager was replaced. Plus there are their incredible fans who simply deserve to keep their team in the Championship for the massive support. I believe three points will be enough. Hopefully they can get them against West Brom already. It would be a warm satisfaction for the way the season has proceeded. WAWAW from Prague.

Anyone old might remember 1976 Clough took forest up to Div 1. Bolton had 3 games in hand and a point in front of forest. They lost all three games. Ipswich have 3 games in 8 days, thanks to Cov getting to semi finals. Pressure it definitely on town.

A Huddersfield or WBA win and QPR & Stoke will be safe, bar getting absolutely battered on the final day. Both teams are 11 and 13 goals better off the Huddersfield and Wednesday respectively. There's also the very real possibility, that Blackburn lose their last 2 and Plymouth mange a point or less. It's not over, and of course this is the Championship after all. That said, I feel a lot less stressed after that Preston win.

It will be 49 points to stay up in the championship, 100% think a team will be relegated on goal difference too

I've been predicting an all-Yorkshire drop zone for a while now, and I'm sticking with it. Huddersfield and Sheff Weds will be joining Rotherham in League One. It's absolutely incredible that so many teams are still in the relegation fight and there could be 2 places to decide on the final day of the regular season.

For the 2022/23 campaign, the sliding scale will see the champions receive roughly £44m and the bottom-placed team around £2.2m. The team finishing 17th, and just avoiding relegation, is set to receive around £8.8m, as well as staying in the top tier to cash in again next term. So there is still something to play for

If, as looks likely, Leicester are already up by the Blackburn match, that game looks a whole lot different. Leicester could just capitulate, or play training ground football and score with every shot.

I'm hoping after getting thrashed at Leicester tonight, Southampton have no realistic chance of making the top two so they will rest some players for the play offs and that makes it easier for Stoke to pick up a point there. Stoke played well against Plymouth despite the pressure of the occasion, but I don't want to be going into the last game against Bristol needing a win because I don't think you can rely on Stoke playing well two home games on the trot! I'm hoping for a Huddersfield win or a Wednesday defeat in the next fixtures to mean three teams are most unlikely to overtake Stoke. Depending what Stoke team turns up we could get 0 points or 6 points from the last two games, but the former is more likely based on this season! Other than Huddersfield and Birmingham, the whole lot down there could feasibly not get another point from their remaining fixtures. It's a mad season.

I so thank God that Wednesday stayed up. Last three games, nine points out of nine. Last season we had Miracle of Hillsborough, thought we had blown our ration for decades to come. Privileged to witness 3-0 v WBA. One of the best days of my life. Wednesday were perfect, everything in place. Bought my ticket when it was binary. It was either you are wasting your money or you are investing in a vital piece of Wednesday history. Latter proved true!

Hull and Coventry are not realistically in the playoff hunt. Coventry look like they will have a very good chance next season along with Middlesborough and maybe Hull and potentially QPR and Sheffield Wednesday as dark horses.

50 points might do it and I think Huddersfield surely going down, Birmingham already in it but I think Plymouth can get dragged into it, it’s hard to see them getting 2 points from those 2 fixtures but with their goal difference much better than Birmingham, it may come down to either 1 point or goal difference between plymouth and Birmingham on the final day, So it’s Birmingham and huddersfield down for me
