So... just here to be boring, really. But it's a quite well-documented and normal responce for animals when they're frustrated. It's called, uh, I don't know the English word for it, actually. Anyway. misdirected attention or something. It's when there's some act (in this case attacking the intruder) that for one reaon or another cannot be performed, so they direct the urge somewhere else. You also see it with dogs suddenly scratching when they really want to go say hi or cats washing themselves intensely when really they would want to go attack the new puppy you just brought home to be its new "best friend".

My huskies were the same in the summertime, even in Minnesota. Once snow was on the ground you would have to bribe them to come inside. My German Shepherd is the same way. No thank you to being outside during the day in the summer, but once it gets cold he is all for it.

For a long time, I had a foster dog that was claustrophobic and never wanted to be in the house. She had a covered patio, pool, lounge chair, toys, walked 3 times a day, played with until she was tired and decided to quit.... One of my neighbors got really upset because the dog never came inside house. So, they tried steal her and put her inside their house. They got scratched up trying to carry her inside the house. Once they got her inside, she destroyed their door trying to get back outside. They wound up paying a couple hundred dollars' worth of vet bills because she injured herself while tearing a hole in their door to get back outside. They wound up returning her voluntarily... I can't imagine why. Just FYI she got adopted and went on to become a farm dog. She spent the next 13 years living her best life without ever having to go inside a house again.

The amount of people I had to tell that my dog was fine was hilarious, she would fake limp for attention. She would always magically start walking normally once someone paid attention to her she was so dramatic :')

I’m calling that some people have fallen for it, hence why he’s probably still doing it.

My younger dog won't touch his food until my older dog finishes eating. Not from wanting to wait his turn, but because he wants to check her bowl when she finishes and be able to eat anything she leaves behind.

@@sodamisc it was amazing!!!! i was so happy to see her and she was howling as soon as i came up the drive (she’s a husky so howling is always fun) she was a little confused though since i came home in a wheelchair and she hadn’t ever seen one before and she tried squeezing under it but she didn’t fit so she resorted to sitting on my lap (once again, a full sized husky lmao). im just happy to be home and have my bestie again
