To be fair, he pretty obviously wasn't supposed to HAVE a title reign. He wasn't supposed to win the belt at WrestleMania 32; hell, he wasn't even supposed to be in the match (he was brought in to sub for Neville after Neville got injured in the lead-up). I'm betting Miz was actually supposed to be the original winner (which explains why Miz immediately beat him for the title the next night, to get plans back on track), but the other six guys in the match (Miz, Ziggler, Zayn, Owens, Sin Cara and Stardust) all pressured the writers into changing the booking to have Ryder go over because he deserved his own WrestleMania moment. My theory is they did it because they'd heard about Ryder getting his photo taken with Razer Ramon 22 years earlier after Scott Hall retained the Intercontinental Title in a ladder match against Shawn Michaels (and Ryder had his photo taken with Hall again, this time with HIS IC title, after he won). So yeah, it was just a nice moment and Ryder was never meant to be a real IC champion.

DatPatriotsFan how I would do it is have Finn return at the royal rumble and when the lights go out with the demon stuff Seth is distracted and then from behind he eliminates Seth and then he wins the royal rumble. Next night of raw cause I heard the elimination chamber is coming back foley and Steph announce that Kevin Owens will defend his universal title against Roman reigns chris Jericho ceasro Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. Towards the end of the match kevin Owens eliminates Roman clean and is bragging to the crowd but Seth rolls him up and eliminates Kevin, KO goes mad and beats the crap out of Seth maybe powerbomb him through a pod, but when KO finally walks out the chamber the last two are Finn and Seth i would give them about 10 minutes to wrestle it out but Seth wins. Next night Finn announces "I won the royal rumble match so I've still got one last shot at that title, you me wrestlemania, but the weeks leading up to wrestlemania Seth keeps targeting his shoulder including in the elimination chamber match cause Seth says he's gonna do to Finn what he did at summer slam but this time walk out as champion. So at wrestlemania after a long maybe half an hour match Finn finally wins and during the match and this might be a bit risky but Seth hits a buckle bomb again into the barricade but still later on Finn hits a coup de grace and celebrates with the title with a great wrestlemania moment with confetti and fireworks etc ending Seth and finns feud

Greeney The Chamber PPV is a SmackDown-exclusive. Also, you've kinda booked both Bálor and Rollins as heels in that. I don't think a babyface Bálor would eliminate someone from behind, and I don't think a babyface Rollins would target an injury.

Greeney I think for that to work, you have to either scrap the fued with Triple H (that seems to be building to Wrestlemania) or wrap it up at the Rumble. Then start the whole Balor thing. Personally I think we need heel Rollins back at some point and it would make the fued less split on who to cheer for but your storyline is pretty good

i feel the same way, so many guys were goofy characters became champs, heck some guys were champs while being goofy like foley in his dude love persona. ryder had the people behind him...something that is hard to do. and wwe punished him for making them money

Takes on KO at whatever Raw PPV happens after the Rumble in a non-title match after declaring he'll use his opportunity to face AJ for the World title. KO tries to cheat to win, but Nakamura wins thanks to an assist from Balor. Faces AJ at WM33 in a WK10 rematch. Nakamura leaves with the title; the Era of Strong Style begins. AJ takes some time off for R&R (he'll get his rematch later down the line) while Nakamura begins to feud with Cena, Dean, and/or Miz. AJ then returns from his rest to get his rematch at MITB. And then the rest of it doesn't really count as a debut.
