When you think about it, Barca has been unlucky in these last UCL campaigns, especially this season. Bayern is Bayern, Inter is know the UCL finalist. Against both of them, Barca had some serios injury problems, Araujo was injured etc. The back 4 was ridiculous in many of these games. Alonso, Bellerin, Eric Garcia, Pique played many minutes, who are nowhere near the level of our startinh back 4: Kounde-Araujo_Christensen-Balde

Pedri and De jong are hands down the most important players to Barca since Messi, they both provide control and without them we crumbled. Which is funny considering the board tried to sell De jong last summer (thank god he didn't leave). i'm also glad we secured a generational talent like Pedri he's out of this world, all and all i think the future is bright considering LaLiga is going to approve Barca's viability plan to do transfers.

@@Granglife Summary: the whole defensive line was spectacular most of this season. (Except Pique of course which is probably what you refer to on "defense hasn't clicked", we had to play him in important games and costed us UCL knockouts) Not only Araujo and Ter Stegen. Christensen's performance was 11/10 considering he arrived for free, spectacular player one of the best CBs in the world right now. Kounde also did a very good season not as brilliant as Christensen and Araujo but also gave a lot security. Nothing needed to say about Balde probably the most important offensive player this season, incredible talent. Even Marcos Alonso deserves praise he was dependable when playing CB, and "dependable CB" is really, really good for a player whose natural position is not at all CB but offensive fullback and that arrived for free as well.

@@tukhorhassan7737 its like inviting players to press so that u break there defensive structure and u form a situation where a typical counter attacking team would form when they regain ball where there is lots of space to exploit but the advantage is that u will have the ball and u will create such spaces without giving the ball. mostly works against high press and mid blocks too but also works against low blocks if u make the opponent team frustrated by keeping possession so that they force mistakes. de zerbi (brighton's manager) is widely know for using this tactic and makes team who play control or possession football more easy and makes the demand of technicality less due to availability of passing in open spaces, this type of football requires a mix of pace, technicality and tenacity.

I played barca for 2 years in PES. 4 3 3 is almost same as 5 2 3 if you play PES using Barca because the AMF also can go as CF or SS... Last time there were midfielders i used a lot which are Seido Keita as defensive mid, Xavi, and Iniesta as attacking midfielder.. I used a lot 4 3 3 alot but actually only 2 midfielders as attacking midfielders... When reduced the centre forward strikers from 3 to 2... There are more midfielders means more space for the midfielders to switch position from midfielders to strikers anytime we want.

It's impossible not to be. Every person that watches him play knows he is spectacular. At some point this season before his injury he was in an absolute and permanent state of grace that he was definitely the best football player in the world, ahead of Messi, Mbappe and whoever you want to name, it was like if he had aerial view and had the spirits of Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, Modric and Zidane mentoring him on what to do every second, the game was an open book for him. Hopefully he can show us this level again after his injury and next season, because he had been playing an excessive amount of minutes and that caused his injury and can weigh down on his progression. Barca desperately needs another midfielder of guarantees to give him and Gavi some rest, such young players cannot play everything it is not good for their bodies.

They don’t carry enough threat. Won La Liga with a historical outlier of a defensive season. Not good enough in the CL. Gavi and Pedri are both incredible but if Lewandowski is expected to score all the goals their ceiling is quite limited. Need a quality player at inside left who can drop into the box midfield but also put up decent goals scoring numbers.

The xa vs actual assists is funny because yes he actually has been very unlucky. Until last game he seemed cursed bc almost every game he’d create a big change and it would get missed

hmm now i see why there's a rumor of Messi come back to Barcelona on tactical side. Messi can play on that left attacking midfield role. he will come as a free agent (along with Auba maybe). Barcelona doing what Italian clubs (mainly Juve) done for years. hiring 30+ cheap/free agent players

the one thing that is forgotten in this research is how in december 2022 la liga president Tebas changed the rules of fairplay so that a lot of the money coming from the levers, would not be considered as income, therefore forcing Barca to the point where it was back in the summer - all in all Barca is on its way back struggling against a very skewed liga field that only seems to work for mr Florentino!

Wouldn't it make sense to play Kessie in the Busquets Role? Not quite the same player, but from bis Milan Days i know he runs for two defensively which could be really useful in case Messi comes in. Like to hear thoughts about this
@chriscestero
@chriscestero 11 ай бұрын
I think this could work, with FDJ as a double pivot, I don’t think Kessie as a single pivot would help much, especially as both kessie and FDJ like to make forward runs, with FDJ making much more powerful drives forward with the ball

@@ianm8218 Does everyone seriously does not remember that Barca played Bayern and Inter in groups, and the stellar defense got injured and we had to play UCL with the yikes of useless Pique? Even with all that Barcelona's elimination was decided by a referee mistake, Dumfries' handball that the referee didn't catch. Really acting here like Barca was a failure this season instead of just having really bad luck. I remind y'all that Real Madrid literally lost 5-1 to the very first large team they faced in UCL this season, while Barcelona faced 3 large teams in Europe this season with tons of injuries and even then it's defeat was decided by a referee mistake.
