Great video with a few mistakes. Jurin joined AVEX artist academy at age 14. Jurin, Amy and Airi were part of AVEX artist academy all stars and Shorty. Hinata is half Japanese. XGALX was using YGs training facilities and they were NOT trained by YG. Also most pre debut videos of them practicing are at AVEX artist academy in Tokyo. Chisa was not with another label before xgalx she was with Kansai Collection Entertainment which is a modeling, dance and acting agency. She then went to Tokyo and joined AVEX artist academy. Juria joined AVEX artist academy as a special student. Juria and Kokona were known at the academy as the prodigy students. Also Jurin was not a semi pro but she was a pro snowboarder at age 12. At the time she held the record of being the youngest to go pro. I believe a few years ago a boy went pro at 11.

I'm an old skool OG music aficionado. I've seen 1000s of groups come & go over the decades. XG is just different. They have something unique & special that's hard explain unless you experience them on your own & go down that XG rabbit hole like millions of others have. Their mix of ultra level raw talent (rap, vocals & dance), pure charisma, magnetic aura & genuine personalities makes them true superstars. "Shooting Star" & "Left Right" were both huge global iconic hits in 2023. If they can just pull off a crazy global viral type song like Cupid, XG will be literally be launched into the stratosphere guaranteed. All i know is if you have not discovered XG yet you are seriously missing out big time. Just watch their MVs for Left Right, XG TAPE #2 GALZ XYPHER, Shooting Star & XG MOVE #3 to start you off. You will see what everyone is talking about.

XG was never trained under or by YG. They were only using YGE dance studio to perform move #1 because AVEX have a little bit of ownership of YGE along with YG Entertainment. Please stop giving YG stans an excuse to spread hatred toward XG. You didn't even do your research correctly. More than half of what you said in this video about XG are false. Get your facts right.

i've never felt like a group is this perfect for me before! I'm so, so grateful I discovered them now and can therefore follow their career and every release! They're still so new and that's SO exciting! We have so so much good music to look forward to. If I could recommend one song of theirs it would be X-Gene. It gives me chills!

I would love nothing more than for the kpop industry, knetz and inetz to stop gatekeeping the kpop formula and accept xg as a kpop group, but unfortunately they are simply not considered that way by the majority. They market themselves as a global group and sing in English. They're also Japanese. So even though they use the kpop formula of training, debut and comebacks, it's not enough for them to fall into kpop categories. Even if they promote in Korea and have a loyal Korean fanbase, the larger community go out of their way to tell people they are not kpop because they don't do official korean releases. Personally i find drawing this hard line in the sand on what is kpop and not is pointless because the genre is going to expand beyond that regardless. But I guess this issue is why Simon created the Xpop genre using XG. When you don't fall into just one category, you pioneer a new one!

the thing is....xgalx knows this.they know that xg is a kpop group.but what they are doing is smart...they'll claim that xg is a global group so that the global side of the world notices them,perform in korea so that the kpop world notices them and japan so that the jpop and japanese market notices them.they are taking advantage of the current biggest global entertainment industries in the world.this tactic will skyrocket xg to global stardom.🎉and i can't wait to see it❤

That’s what I thought! In terms of “globalizing” Japanese music (especially J-pop) more, I have a feeling it’s going to be an uphill battle. The most well-known forms of J-entertainment across the globe have been games/anime/manga (for a LONG time), so it’ll be VERY difficult to shake off the “otaku” image. Part of the reason why such J-pop acts (like Perfume and BABYMETAL) have been gaining some traction outside of Asia is because they’re at least “otaku-adjacent.” They exist, but they're exceptions.

With how sophisticated the K-pop industry’s becoming, crossing over to Korea is (probably) the most realistic route for many Asian artists to achieve some kind of global success. Not going to name names (mostly), but there’s at least some J-pop acts (the ones not formed by Korean companies) who try so hard to be like their K-pop counterparts. Sorry, but trying to be who you’re not isn’t really the best way to go. Comparisons are inevitable. For XG (a fully Japanese girl group) at least, their chances of global success would be very unlikely without any “Kpop-ish” vibes. They were created by a former K-pop star (after all). P.S. I won’t deny that much of the Asian (especially Japanese/Korean) idol systems are based off the Motown model. However, it has gotten to the point where they became their own things.

This video was put so well together. There are some things that are a little off that their documentary on KZfaq explains pretty well especially for each individual member. As for Hikaru she won’t be added to XG unfortunately. But she is however still apart of the XGALX label so any future projects with XGALX and depending on the future of KEP1ER we can be sure Hikaru will be apart of a new project of XGALX. One thing is certain Our Xtraordinary Girls along with their team XGALX and Simon continue to tear down these preconceived notions in the music industry especially the Kpop industry. XG has single handily set the blueprint for the title of Global Group.

XG according to SIMON “JAKOPS” Korean/Japanese born in the US, is Xpop. They were meticulously selected by Simon and he intentionally wanted to create a new genre concept “Xpop” so they would not be boxed in as a specific genre. I myself, listen to Qpop, Vpop, Tpop, Ppop and Mpop so I don’t get WHY it’s such a HUGE topic? This Japanese Global Group are ALL “ACES”. Please watch their Documentary Series “Xtra Xtra” and it explains the evolution of XG’s creation. AVEX has many popular Kpop Groups were listed under there Ageny and their International Conglomerate has listed many popular US Artists as well. GOOGLE them …you will be surprised at who is under AVEX…I WAS SURELY SHOCKED. Thank you for your extensive research and sharing this Amazing Global Group detailed information.

They are better than anything in the US rn hands down and still have not broken the mainstream which is troubling because all their songs are bangers and deserve the spotlight. They are wholesome and radio ready But we have to endure wretchedness from the likes of Doja Cat and Taylor Swift on repeat it’s very frustrating.

This is a comprehensive video to XG's background. Nice research 👍 About XG, it really doesn't matter to me if they are considered Kpop or not, but in my opinion, they are somewhat Kpop adjacent being that they were trained based on a korean idol system. Also, they sing their songs in English as they aim to relay their music to a global scale. I stan XG because I vibe with their music, concepts, member personalities. I don't discriminate based on where they're from or if their songs aren't korean(like what kind of bs is that?? - SO DUMB.) What makes XG stand out for me is their MUSIC (not too much noise type of music but rather influenced by hiphop and rnb - which I vibe with), their well rounded, highly skilled, insanely talented, visually stunning MEMBERS, their xgalx TEAM(yes I included them because the videos, styling, make up, mgmnt. are really working well that's why the girls look so perfect), CREATIVITY - all songs and concepts of XG are really good and I can't wait to see and hear more from them. 🌠🥰

Another note: All members of XG are born in Japan and have signed with AVEX. The significance of XG receiving training in both Japan and Korea is noteworthy. It's important to recall that XAGALX was established in Japan back in 2017. While XGALX is currently managed by Simon Jakops, it remains supported by AVEX and is still affiliated with the label. While Hinata is of mixed Japanese and Korean heritage, she was born in Japan and is more fluent in Japanese than Korean, as indicated in her online biography. This is not meant to disregard Korean culture. I appreciate both JPOP and KPOP, but it's evident that Hinata's early activities were primarily centered around Japan. Similar to Harvey, she has limited proficiency in English, predominantly communicating in Japanese.

Was hoping this video would go a little deeper. My thoughts on XG: They sing in all english which may be the future with how well Fifty Fifty Cupid Twin version did. Singing in english also lets them perform on korean music shows, I think for public broadcasters they have prohibitions on singing in Japanese I could be wrong. Also its interesting in how XGALAX reverse engineering K-pop which includes XG doing the normal kpop group things like Korean variety shows, music shows and even korean staff but of course they label themselves X-pop. I've also noticed XG girls seem to have a lot of stamina, like to my knowledge none of the girls have been sick and missed time since debut. It could be also the company takes good care of their health? Also they all speak korean pretty well and their english is passable and Chisa has excellent pronunciation when singing in english. Finally its obvious Avex has put a ton of money into XG. All the music videos, high quality teasers, styling, clothes. I have to ask if XG is earning enough to equal the investment. Personally at the start like a lot of Koreans I was lukewarm about XG for political reasons but they really won me over. Even if they're not a K-pop group their songs are so good and KZfaq content is so good. They really are the most well balanced group in K-pop/X-pop/whatever.

NiZIU and XG differ in various aspects. While NiZIU can be classified under both JPOP and KPOP genres and is jointly managed by Sony Entertainment and JYP Entertainment, XG's genre is distinct, not falling into the KPOP or JPOP categories. XG, with AVEX as its sole parent company, operates under the management of Simon Jakops but is labeled under AVEX exclusively, highlighting its unique musical identity. They're that group with unique identity. They're partial part of Kpop with a touch of Japanese (street fashion), with a sound of infused HipHop/Rnb/pop. They're really indeed an Xpop. (X=crossover).

Respectful of all genres, it's clear that a global group like XG stands apart from others. Their performances are uniquely distinctive, breaking away from the conventional pop music video format. Placing importance on substance over appearance or repetitive routines adds considerable depth. XG courageously delves into fresh music video concepts and embraces a wide range of content. ~~~ XG does not fall into the KPOP or JPOP genres; they are classified as XPOP.

XG is often perceived as a fusion of Japanese pop (JPOP) and Korean pop (KPOP). In a Billboard interview with AVEX CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa, it was revealed that the intention was to establish a global girl group that represents Japanese artists and introduces their music to a global audience. XG's management, spearheaded by Simon Jakops, CEO of XGALX, in collaboration with parent company AVEX, envisioned XG undergoing training in both Japan and Korea to refine their singing and dancing abilities. Despite initial discussions about singing in Japanese, the decision was made to use English, given the global and Korean market targeting. The emphasis was placed on pronunciation since none of the members are native English or Korean speakers. Simon and Katsumi aimed to create a unique genre, X-Pop, rather than fitting XG into the J-pop or K-pop categories.

XG is considered more as a global group from Asia rather than belonging to the KPOP genre. How about NiziU, a 9 member Japanese girl group under JYP Entertainment? Not quite KPOP but a close simulation in style. It's all good when spreading Asian based music across the globe.

NiZIU is different from XG. XG genre is not KPOP or JPOP. XG parent company is only AVEX and XGALX is under management of Simon, but label under AVEX. NiZIU is managed by a join company production between Sony entertainment and JYP entertainment. NiZIU can be JPOP/KPOP genre group. On Wikipedia is shows NiZIU is part of both genre. But not XG.

So, about Hikaru, respectfully speaking, she never made it to the candidates. Both her and Rei were cut from the candidates and were sent to GP999, only Airi was given the 50/50 chance but was still cut from the line up during the last minute The 8th member you see on the OT8 version of XG's predebut dance practices is Airi (XG's first and former leader) not Hikaru

@@ChRisu_Ojisan I was basing it on the xtra xtra documentary hence the mention of both Airi and Rei. So technically, it is debunked since it would be unfair to Airi and Rei if Hikaru were to be added to the group after Kep1er even though she was cut from the candidates before XG's debut

XG Shooting Star MV Didn’t come out on Jan 25 2022 while Left and right Mv didn’t came out on Mar 6 2022 since Shooting star came out on Jan 25 2023 while Left & right came out on Feb 13 2023 since both of the song I mentioned came out on Jan 25 2023 as a single album

Great video just one mistake jpop started first not kpop. Kpop was influence by jpop. The founder of jpop was Johnny Kitagawa.

NiZIU is maanged by a join company production between Sony entertainment and JYP entertainment. NiZIU can be JPOP/KPOP genre group. On Wikipedia is shows NiZIU is part of both genre. But not XG

I saw them at KCon LA last summer and they were AMAZING!!!! They shut it DOWN! To think they were only on the main concert stage to fill in for Fifty Fifty (or at least that was the rumor I heard).

They are not kpop. They don't have any korean members, don't sing at all in korean, are not managed by a korean company, and their music style is totally opposite to kpop. They only promote in Korea, but that doesn't mean it's kpop because you can promote any music genre anywhere. Even the members themselves said their musical style doesn't resemble kpop. It's that simple.

One of the members of this group is half Korean, and they are signed under XGALX, a Korean company that is a subsidiary of AVEX Japan. Similar to Black Label's relationship with YG, their main songs are in English to appeal to a global audience. However, they do have one official hip-hop song called "SHOW YOU CAN," which features Korean, Japanese, and English lyrics that two of the members helped compose. The song was created in collaboration with the dance group TSUBAKILL for their performance video of SWF2. The group doesn't label themselves as K-pop because their genre is more heavily influenced by 90s and 2000s hip-hop/R&B. They market themselves as X-Pop, which is a blend of three different industries: K-pop for the execution of plans such as dancing with a lot of singing and change keys, cinematography, and merchandise; J-pop for the idol system and entertainment lifestyle and cultural beliefs; and pop for influences of 80s-2000s hiphop and R&B and Jersey Club sound with a niche of ballad and jazzy style of music.

@@shincloud4609 Hinata is half Korean but she did not speak korean before the company started teaching them, she was born and raised in Japan. The fact that she is part korean is not an argument to make the entire group kpop, plus they define themselves as a completely Japanese group. XGALX is a Japanese (not korean) company based in Seoul so that XG can promote *from* that country. They made the song 'Show you can' for the Japanese group TSUBAKILL, and? You're wrong in the description of X-Pop, Jurin said in an interview (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m76UkreAvKmZY6c.html) : 'Our music is inspired by R&B and hip-hop, we add originality and essence unique to XG, creating the sound of X-Pop.' The group has from the beginning described their genre as Hip hop and R&B (official description), but they have also added other genres to the mix.

@@shincloud4609 All members of XG are born in Japan and have signed with AVEX. The significance of XG receiving training in both Japan and Korea is noteworthy. While Hinata is of mixed Japanese and Korean heritage, she was born in Japan and is more fluent in Japanese than Korean, as indicated in her online biography. This is not meant to disregard Korean culture. I appreciate both JPOP and KPOP, but it's evident that Hinata's early activities were primarily centered around Japan

Hi i just wanted to add about Hinata. Her local dance studio she was training at caught wind of the auditions for xgalx, and her teachers recommended she audition. Simon has always taken a liking to Hinatas shy but very talented and artistic nature.
