Watching you pack really made me tear up. I'm going through something similar and it's so hard to leave or move on. But that's how we know it's the right decision. If it's not hard, you're not growing. You are right about the path. When you stop moving, the path stops appearing. I am excited for your next chapter❤

I'm 30 years old and have moved 16 times across cities, countries continents and what not. I'm preparing for my 17th move right now and I know for a fact that IT NEVER GETS EASIER!! So I really felt this video in my bones. When you were painting over that green wall crying I resonated so much I started crying too and got goosebumps. But the moves have been so necessary each time and things only truly get clearer as you start walking the path courageously like you said. If I don't push myself and delay a change I know is necessary things start to stagnate and get really dark and depressing. So I really needed the additional inspiration. @marianospencer some people think moving is a luxury and some have to move out of sheer necessity. My family fell into the latter category and most of my moves happened while I was still under parental care. We never moved to "seek happiness", we cultivated it young and took it with us wherever we went. The moves were a byproduct of my father's scope of work, and we enjoyed each one immensely. As an adult, I have had to make some moves by myself as well, partly as a necessity and partly as a luxury. The only heartbreaking part is when it's time to leave, which is what I resonated with in this video. But it's a very small price to pay. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to tread across so much of this big, beautiful planet. As a well frog, I understand this is beyond your imagination's capacity. What's 'utterly depressing' is leaving a snappy rude comment under a beautiful video. Online trolling strangers you know nothing about and nasty comments are strongly correlated with poor mental health. Perhaps you should prioritize working on that instead of spilling your hurt and pain through the keyboard. I would wish you goodluck but I wouldn't mean it, so goodbye.

Crying because you’re scared, and it’s overwhelming to step into the unknown, is the farthest away from stupid one could ever get. Just taking that step is such a huge thing. Processing the emotions and grieving what we leave behind no matter if it’s the right thing to do, that’s the most important part of the process. Thanks for inviting us in once again❤

And I have a question if you ever want to answer it. What makes you paint? And not what you love about it or why you paint. But what makes you actually sit down and do it? On days where you might not feel like it. Or don’t know where to start or what to create. What makes you do it?

Moving into my own space was one of the best things I could do for my creative process years ago. Living with a roommate is an interesting constraint at first, and forces you to adopt a certain routine, but yeah, definitely a big constraint over time. Also, can definitely relate to the feelings of doubt at the start of a process, even if I've been through it many times. Its encouraging to be reminded that the feeling seems to be universal, and sometimes we just need that reminder that the process will work.

This is crazy, I found your channel about 2 years ago with your room makeover and it's been really bittersweet seeing you packing everything, tbh, but I know better things are coming for you. Life is about phases and you're just closing one to start another! Liebe Valerie, ich fühle so mit dir. Du sprichst mir aus dem Herzen. Nach der Trennung von meinem Mann zog ich zurück in meine Heimatstadt, ohne zu wissen, wer ich wirklich bin und was ich vom Leben möchte. Ich bin den Weg der Kreativität gegangen und glaube fest daran, dass das Universum meinen Weg unterstützt. Immerhin hat es mich zu deinen Videos geführt. :) Die Angst vor dem Unbekannten und vor Veränderungen ist auch bei mir allgegenwärtig, doch dank des Schreibens und des intuitiven Malens bekommt meine innere Stimme ein Sprachrohr. Manchmal habe ich immer noch Angst davor, was sich in den Untiefen meines inneren Universums noch verbirgt. Und jetzt 2,5 Jahre nach der Trennung und frisch geschieden, lichten sich die Schleier und Schritt für Schritt gehe ich in die Richtung, in die mein Herz und meine Intuition mich leiten. Vielen Dank für's teilen deiner Gedanken (auch deiner Tränen). Hab dir gleich mal ein Abo dagelassen. :)

Valerie, every change comes with a loss, but also comes with opportunity and something you gain! I am sure this is difficult - I have experienced a move many times before, and I can imagine the step into the unknown. I think you should feel very proud of yourself for doing this. I hope the move proves good for you and we see your mother on one of your future videos. My mom passed a couple years ago. She always wore bold colors in edition to black and white. I have been wearing some of her clothes, lots of reds, which I never bought for myself. But they look quite nice. I looked back on childhood pics and she dressed me in red alot.

I am so proud of you, Valerie. When I was your age (I am 70 now), and needed a quiet space, I would sit in my closet and picture the clothes as kind friends who said nothing, but who knew who I was and surrounded me with peace and helped me quiet my mind. It takes courage to tell your story to strangers. It takes courage to share that which is closest to your heart: your art. It takes courage to move into the unknown with grace and strength. I was a career engineer but through your and your fellow artists on KZfaq, I have started painting. Writing. And sharing my work. We all hope to make a difference in this life. You do...every day. i'm a little sad about your move....I remember things like your rocking horse and when you got your plant and special things for your.bedroom (white linen i think)......how you enjoyed the windows and your trips to the beach and art stores......you are an amazing soul/spirit....I wish I had been more courageous when I was your age....I'm a lot older now and i'm always so tired from teaching first grade...I want to do my art but never have energy to do it....hopefully I will retire soon so that i can become healthier....much love to you Valerie and your new adventures.
