These are hunting/stalking rifles. You have outsized optics on these rifles making the handling off the mark.

How to make an ultra lite rifle heavy, add military grade scope base and mounts. Then add long range heavy scopes and shades! Then rapid fire a hunting barrel for test!😅

I think for the money Howa makes the best new production rifles so much better than a 700 it's from a military factory CHF and the Japanese police and JSDF uses it. It would be nice to have more options for backup irons as broken glass nearly ruined a hunting trip for me but thankfully I also took a then cheap yugo M48 8mm mauser and some Romanian steel case soft points I was lucky the zero was perfect. If I don't care about weight then I do prefer something like a CZ mausers of milsurp mausers especially in 6.5 swede and 7mm mauser but I still love 8mm mauser and I have so much 7.62x54r I have a few Finnish mosins as I knew the price would go up and you can't compare a finn M39 to a soviet mosin.

@@Bullets4Bucks I feel they are the best, get a barreled action in your size, caliber, barrel type and finish then choose your stock and glass, they do make wood stocks and the weatherby vanguard is the same rifle with the trigger set, mag conversion is cheap mags are cheap stock trigger is great nothing you need to upgrade. A little disappointed they removed some calibers but if enough interest howa would make them just like they do for wealthy. I think this rifle is perfect especially for the money, good steel CHF, nice slick action chambered for both NATO and civilian for 5.56x45 and 7.62x51 I have never had a jam or misfeed but for dangerous game I would probably still stick to controlled feed. More and more millitarys are using this rifle as its sold in so many nations plus the lack of rem 700s but due to japanese law they can sell millitary weapons overseas.

You mentioned in a closing comment about barrel integrity and not having to worry about that when you get the stocker and I was wondering if you have heard of problems with the carbon fiber barrels they make?

Just received my howa carbon stalker 6mm arc and pretty disappointed.first the barrel is pinned to one side of the stock wont be sliding any paper under it then the bolt has spots on it where theirs no coating on and another part of the sock right by were bullets eject is chewed up…called legacy and they had me pull it apart and try to realign it and retourqe it and its clear the stockys stock is messed up and poor job on coating the bolt now the guns heading back with tags still on it…pretty bummed also the bolt sounds like a zipper when you work the action
