It’s not that they don’t want to open their mind, it’s that it’s not profitable when people can heal themselves with their mind.

As he said, many became pain free just by reading his book. I reckon therefore that he didn't make lots of money from his cure. How ironic.

I overcame excruciating pelvic pain I had been suffering from for 3.5 years... I couldn't sit anywhere and I couldn't lie down ...I had tried pelvic physiotherapy, supplements, antiinflammatories etc with zero results... I read "The Mindbody Prescription" and after a 4 days I would sit on a hard wooden chair with no cushion for 20 minutes to eat lunch... Since that day in January 2024 I have been completely pain free in my pelvis and sit wherever I want with no pain at all ... That book gave me my life back ... My name is Manos Vagenas from Athens Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 and I purchased his book in Amazon in January 2024

See, my retort is an obvious one: If this is such a great technique, and so effective, it should be researched in a well done study and proven, and that means more than anecdotes by this or that famous personality. That is the test that other surgical and nonoperative techniques face, and they have to be proven to work.
Chet - dig into those links. You'll find them helpful.

@@rumurinc Noted. But carefully read the exclusion criteria; this technique does work on the otherwise healthy and the worry is that organic disease wouldn't be excluded if the technique is adopted too broadly. Note also that the patients are largely self selected.

Of course. But consider his patients have already failed all conventional methods b4 going to him. It may be basic Freud and power of suggestion/placebo effect but it’s clearly worth trying.

Ummm, COVID was not "in the mind" like a great deal of chronic pain is...

Oh shut it. So sick of opinions around COVID. KEEP IT TO Yourself.

Though it does seem Dr Sarno is very effective with hypochondriacs, of the sort of, well, otherwise healthy privileged people who don't do manual labor for a living and can afford to spend lots of money for this or that cosseting treatment

I’m a 38 year old military veteran that’s skateboarded since I was 5 and I renovate houses by myself for a living. I was certain I injured my lower back 2 years ago refinishing floors. The pain has dominated my life ever since. I’ve been to doctors, chiropractors and physical therapist who talked about pain management for the rest of my life. I discovered Dr. Sarno a week ago, read his book, and my pain is mostly gone. In the last 4 days I’ve skateboarded, played baseball, ran a 5k and worked my job renovating and this is the best I’ve felt in 2 years all thanks to reading a 9 dollar book.

@@shannonkane816 that's incredible man. I am also in a 3 year long battle with chronic pain after a hernia surgery that never healed right. I've also been a life long athlete and have never had any sort of physical malady so massively devastate every aspect of my life. I'm eager to dig into Dr Saro. I've literally only just learned about him tonight though a friend. Which book did you read that helped you so much?

@@shannonkane816 Lucky you. I've been reading and applying knowledge from all TMS-related books by Sarno, Schubiner, Ozanich, Sachs etc., and after 1.5 years, still no progress. I'm not even 30, and I live in hell because of my back pain. All physical therapists and chiropractors have been useless in my case. It is a very lonely and dark place to be in.
