20 years ago I learned of Dr Sarno from Howard. Have been pain-free ever since. Now, in my 40s, I have a job that involves lots of heavy lifting and never an issue.

I could not go on walks, hikes, runs. I could not play golf, tennis. I could not ski. I could not garden or mow the lawn. My physical life was over. The chronic pain in my hips, legs, shoulder was too much; I was scared to do anything. Then I read Dr. Sarno's book. As soon as I finished that book, my pain went away. I learned the pain I suffered was not from my herniated disc, L4 L5. I have resumed all physical activity and have literally regained my life. Thank you Dr. Sarno. You are my hero.

I was a patient of Dr John Sarno's from 1992 till he retired. The initial backpain went away soon after his 2nd lecture. However I suffered w all the usual "tms imperatives" . I'd call Dr Sarno every couple of months w each new symptom. He'd say a Sarno thing, whatever the pain was, would go away. However, not till I watched Documentary All the Rage then found Nicole Sachs, & so many other doctors did it ALL click. I finally overcome 43 years of migraines. Forever grateful to Dr sarno ❤

maciej wrotek he basically says that these pains are psychosomatic and are a distraction created by the unconscious mind to avoid confronting negative emotion (specifically rage) just by being aware and learning that the pain isn’t caused by a physical ailment rather psychological they will recover. According to him and many if not all psychoanalysts we all repress certain distressing emotions and certain types of people are more prone to feeling more of a need to repress anger. I haven’t had this type of problem as far as I know (although I’ve had vision issues that I wonder if they’re psychosomatic) so I can’t give you a success story but look up hila Klein anger Theo von on youtube and there is a clip where she talks about her experience

I thank God for Dr. Sarno's life. This note is for Howard. Keep up what Dr. Sarno has told you. But, also, if you are not breathing from the diaphragm, do so. Belly breathing is going to keep your healthy body healthy by fully oxygenating your blood/cells. I'm sure Dr. Sarno would agree with me. Deep, slow belly breathing keeps the body healthy and uplifts your mood, keeps blood pressure normal, massages your heart, keeps your nervous system balanced, etc, etc.

I had chronic lower back pain for years. Out of nowhere i developed tailbone pain in 2017, and never hurt my tailbone. Could not sit back without terrible pain. Had to sit sideways and stand or i was in pain. Tried special pillows, ice and tons of resting but nothing helped. A work mate told me about Dr. John Sarno and his research and his books. Swore by them. I went to the local library and ordered Dr. John Sarno's Healing Back Pain and and eventually I read Steven Ray Ozaniks, The Great Pain Deception. Took me 5 months but 90% pain free now. Was best advice i was ever given and it was free at my local library. All I did was read the books and no tricks and no exercise. I learned why my back and tailbone hurt and learned a lot about myself. He saved my life, my tailbone, and my chronic back pain. Give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.

Well done Howard. I too am a beneficiary of the good doctor's genius. His book helped me heal some very painful leg pain. Now days I am dealing with the equivalents, and after I figure them out I can banish them. I used to marvel that he wasn't given his due, his work was scholastic and compassionate. He deserved international recognition. RIP good doctor.

I’m a total disciple of Dr. Sarno. So imagine my surprise while watching The Crown, Prince Philip hurt his neck. His aide took him to an osteopath, who told him that he has a lot of patients with neck, back, knee, elbow, etc. He said “their pain has no source; you’d be surprised at what the cause is.” Philip asked what it is, and the osteopath said emotions related to stress, trauma and tension stored in the subconscious. I was stunned. This osteopath turned out to be a bad guy, but boy oh boy he knew!!

Correction Howard: He will be known as the Steve Jobs of Pain recovery, not pain management. There will be nothing left to manage after being coached by a TMS therapist/coach. But then again, after you know what’s going on after recovery and you experience a twinge at some point , you will know how to calm the system and thereby manage it. So you’re technically correct

What I hate too see are people out their treating and giving advice on what they have learned from Dr. Sarnos and then not crediting Dr. Sarnos. Believe me I will be calling them out and I hope others will too. It happens often, when someone is ahead of their time and they are not credited for the wonderful work they did and then time progresses people progress and these ideas become more mainstream and the person that put in all the hard work is never credited as the pioneer. Then you see these other leaches making millions off someone else's hard work. The Doctors who worked with Sarnos acknowledge him for his great work and want to carry out his work to benefit others in his name. There are others, some on you tube who don't even mention his name. Anyhoo it bothers me and I needed to vent. I hope everyone will discover Sarnos' books and live a more pain free life.

So because of drs with that type of mentality my disease has progressed. Yes some people have really no pain. But what about the condition like aids. Is that in the head.
