As a native New Yorker and truck driver who's been all over the United States, I must give kudos to the "southern bible states" for hospitality. They are consummate examples of respect, dignity, and love. I LOVE the "deep south"! America is blessed to have those folks in our Union. Thank God you're back in the USA helping me remember days gone by that I took for granted. Thank you Marie.

@@annjames1837 I hear no southern accents when I go to Nashville anymore. It's no longer a southern city. And everyone is very rude and dismissive. It's like being in a north eastern city now. You can't make eye contact and certain people bring loud dnd playing music in public. I miss old Nashville. Luckily we can carry legally now 😊

I'm also excited. It is my birth city. Alas I was raised in Jackson, TN in the western part of the state though. Even still: I'm beyond over-excited to see Marie in Nashville. It's surreal how much she seems to enjoy it. _SO_ cool! Heh heh👍

It absolutely IS the humidity, you are right about that @MidnightSmoke. Luckily for her, it hasn't even gotten hot yet this year. It's June and 62 degrees right now, which almost never happens in Nashville. So she definitely picked a good time to come.

Dang Bob, you've got me beat. I've only lived in Nashville since 1987. Yeah, almost nobody I've known over the years from here actually wears boots or cowboy hats. In fact hardly anyone does. But we're glad the tourists think we all do. It gives our city a certain charm. I wonder which part of town do you live in? I grew up in Hermitage on the east side, but have now lived in Bellevue on the west side for many years. Have a good one.

As a Southerner, and this is my home state, I truly love that the whole car ride back to the hotel (I presume) that Marie was truly taken aback in a good/positive way with how overly kind many have been in the Volunteer State. Really makes me beam with pride in a way.😊😉☮

It's funny you mentioned how green it is, we have a famous folk hero named Davy Crockett, and one of the verses in songs dedicated to him was "born on a mountaintop in Tennessee, the greenest state in the land of the free, raised in the woods so he knew every tree, killed him a bear when he was only three."

Yes, southern hospitality is a real thing. People have a drive inside themselves to make your day a little better. Good call on Loveless. I have seen many similar videos of people trying their food. The biscuits seem to be a favorite of Europeans. I really appreciate the way you find a way to see the real side of wherever you go. When you went to Boston, you talked to a firefighter, (even if he talked with a heavy accent). You find a way to see and learn about the places you visit. I can't wait for your next episode.

So glad you made it back to the States, & decided to visit part of the South! Just a different way of life down here with some really fantastic places to see. Tennessee is a lovely state with some really rich & interesting history. Hope you get a chance to visit more down this way, & I hope Georgia will be one of your stops. Atlanta isn’t really Southern but it’s like most big cities, not representative of the people as a whole. Savannah is beautiful & a short distance from my hometown of Tybee Island (when I was a kid). It is so rich in history, culture & Southern charm. We have the “Little Grand Canyon on the west side of the state & the largest stone carving in world up at Stone Mountain. Safe travels & God bless.

Welcome back to the USA, Marie. And welcome to the greater Nashville, TN area as well. I drive by the Loveless Cafe almost every day on my way to work. 😁 The Cicada(s) are loud here, but I am sure they feel the same about our noises, and it is only once every 13 to 17 years... so I try to give them a break. 🙂 Downtown Franklin and Franklin/Brentwood as a whole are probably the best places to be to see Nashville when you want to be there, but not worry about the big city when you don't. Nashville certainly has some special places as well, and even some relatively scenic areas for the nature lovers, and a little bit of everything for the tourists. I hope you have/had a good time in Tennessee! 😀

Bonjour Marie! My buddy and his fiancee are both visiting there right now as well, they went there the day after you and just left as of when this uploaded. He told me of the loud cicadas, lol! He said they have been to that Loveless Cafe and thought that their chicken and biscuits were amazing and delish! As for the chocolate croissant, a restaurant chain called Panera Bread used to have croissants and also would split some the long way and fill them with chocolate and drizzle chocolate and also powdered sugar on top. They got rid of the regular croissants and now serve a chocolate croissant that looks like the one you saw, but it still also has the chocolate drizzle and the powdered sugar on top. I wish they called it something else, because it's not a croissant. Anyway, I hope you have a great time, maybe you'll bump into my buddy and his fiancee, lol! Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed

Hey, you were in my town! The people with cowboy hats are tourists - usually in town for a concert. The Loveless Cafe is good enough that even we locals like to eat there, it's not just for tourists but it can get crowded on weekends. The Natchez Trace is a great place for a motorcycle or bicycle ride since it's basically a 444 mile long - 1/2 mile wide National Park, and you arrived at peak season for the tinitus bugs. They should start to dissappear in a couple more weeks.

Yippee yay!!! Back in America Let's go 🤠 🛣️ 🇺🇸 Howdy Marie , Phew! That's a long ✈️ flight , how do you find the patience , when it comes to flying through stormy weather you take your chances , so thankful you landed safely.when it comes to first impressions , what a joy it is driving around admiring the lush beautiful countryside , it tends to be more greener the further east you go. I like the homely feel of the Diner's , ha ha anything on the menu as long as there's eggs. That Southern Hospitality really shines through with it comes to the service , the waitresses explaining how your foods been prepared you don't often find that elsewhere. They've always got some cool signed photos while eating out in the states , Elvis sure did like his burgers & fried cooking , those mats were nice , i haven't tried any Goo goo' s nougat & nuts looks yummy , perfect while on the road. Franklin a charming easy going little town , it kinda reminds me of Mayberry from the Andy Griffith's show. Whoa what a weird coincidence , I was listening to a radio show from there for the first time on Sunday morning. Can you believe how many Cicadas there's been , I could do without the hissing , I guess it wouldn't be the sound of summer without them , the wild institute even came up with some lyrics to their song , i do like some of the t-shirts. The bakery 🥐 had a nice selection , maybe you already explained why chocolate croissants are so wrong , there gonna eat them anyway , the 🍪 were to sweet , I'll have the strawberry chocolate please 😋 . If I ever adopt a new 🐕 it would be adorable to see him playing with his chewies. I also like the homemade crafting stuff as long as it not tacky. I recognised a few places from the wooden map like Clarksville & Shelbyville , I was wondering if Clarksville was the same as the Monkeys song" last train to clarksville" turns out it is , there's a Fort Campbell nearby home to the 101 Airborne division , the song all about leaving the one you love & going to war not knowing if your ever come back. Carter's 🎸 has an Amazing collection , you could have a fortune in your attic that's been handed down & not know it especially if it's signed , I'm guessing there could be allot of Guitar's that were played & given as gifts by Elvis that are still showing up. When it comes to being left handed , your in great company like Hendrix who played upside down to compensate , McCarthy would restring his guitars & there's also Kurt corbain. It's wonderful to see you strumming along , I've been wondering how you've been coming along. The Feder Jag a guitar that's been especially designed just for left handers. It's marvelous getting some more new Picks 🤟 To finish with here's some trivia on Tennessee State ✨ The 3 Stars on the flag represent the east , middle & west , the blue circle unites them. There's 8 borders & you have to cross the state to reach the south . During the civil war it was the last to secede from the union & the first to rejoin. It's known as the Volunteers State because so many have fought in wars going back to 1812 & onwards. Tennessee has the only largest salt & pepper collection with 20 , 000 pairs. Smokey Mt National Park has the most visitors in the country. The State Aquarium 🐠 in Chattanooga has a Ell that uses it's electricity to power it's own X account. It's home to more than 12, 000 animals & 300 fish & reptiles. The Reelfoot Lake is known as the Turtle 🐢 capital of the world There's more 🐎 per capita in Shelby county than anywhere else in the USA Iroquois thoroughbred was bred at Belle meade & was the American horse to win at the english derby. Morden breeds like Secretariat can trace their bloodline back to Iroquois. To learn more about Southern phases & funny words like Cattywampus , Frunchard & Doohickey go to Somewhere down south from Karin & Emily & Serving up Southern websites. Thanks Marie , your off to great start & looking happier for it , looking forward to where your buddy guide takes you too next. Embrace the Adventure , Blessings for the road ahead . 🤩 💛 🧭 ✌️ Prayers to all the families of the fallen 🙏🌹 as we honour their memory & sacrifice on this Memorial Day.Thank you Veterans for your service , Your never be forgotten 🤗🎖️🇺🇸

I went for a business visit to Nashville… i could not believe how nice everyone was. The waitress at our hotel restaurant treated us like we were her grand kids

We have cicadas in some parts of NC this year. I have only seen a few, but there are reports that some people have called the police because they think it's their neighbors making all the noise. 🤔

Welcome back. I became an instant subscriber when I saw there was actually a French person interested in fixing mispronounced English words. That was golden. I don't speak French but I do understand how the training of the musculature of the mouth and throat is very important to speaking any language. It is music and your voice is a wind instrument and you must have an embouchure. I admire that you are not the stereotypical snooty Frenchie (except for chocolate croissants)

So do you have a favorite year/model/color Mustang? Back in the late 80's my friend built a 1970 Mach I basically from scratch! Just used the frame to start. They don't look that dissimilar to the newer models. You should rent one for a day on your visit!

I just moved to Nashville from Georgia a month ago. I’ve also commented on how green it is (lack of pine trees for me as compared to back home)

Nashville...fun town but a tad rowdy. Music's great but the town...take it or leave now. Glad you enjoyed it.
