Well campbell is signing with dolphins. For the life of me (and ive been a howie supporter/defender even going back to sone of his really bad drafts) i dont get why he's so adamant about having a scrub lb group and not signing calais. When calais has a better year than bg or smith im gonna be irate (unless the eagles win a sb)

@@thephillytalkpodcast Fangio runs a 3-4 that means 4 LB's on the field. The outside LB's will cover as much as rush

@@marinasands4319 they are not outside linebackers, they are defensive ends. those guys' main priority is to keep containment from the outside, and to not let the qb or any player break to the outside into the second level. not saying they couldnt play outside lb. On the second point the "4 LBs" in that scheme are meant to be able to both defend the run and they have pass defense assignments. it's just 4 second level defenders... its nt as simple as 3-4, 4-3 or any other formation... when we drop those DEs into coverage, its a form of the 3-4. How you line up, and what personnel you use , have nothing to do with any base formation we might be in, because you will have to disguise what we're doing. a lot of time they could be extra nickel cornerbacks or safeties, should we call them lbs then too? Don't get caught up too much on names and terminology.
