The Story of Hunter Boots. What are Hunter Boots? What is the History of the Wellington Boot? Who Founded Hunter Boots? What is the story of Hunter Wellies? Why does the royal family wear Hunter Wellies? In this video, we explore Hunter, the iconic British Boot Company founded by Americans and now made in China. Hunter Wellies were originally named the North British Rubber Company who supplied rubber boots and other products to the army during the first and second world wars. Hunter then developed their iconic Wellington Boot, inspired by Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, that is still sold today and is seen as a staple of the modern wardrobe. It's surprising that it's history has links to vulcanized rubber yet the quality of today's China made ones crack and peel after a few years indicating it's poor quality rubber being used. Legacy brands like this moving to China shows their commitment to their stock holders instead of their quality and brand heritage.
