I picked up a 2023 GX Luxury with Sport package a few months ago same color as this video. I waited till they announced the 2024 and when I saw V6 with direct injection turbo I decided on the 2023 V8.

The 2023 GX is the last breed of the old fashion Lexus design and old school luxury. The newer generation of Lexuses are not as refined and even not as fuel efficient. I bought a 2023 GX 460 Luxury with the Sport Design Package recently. I could not happier with the refinement. The V8 engine is so smooth yet powerful and extremely reliable. The newer 4 cylinder and turbocharged is not as refined and under powered.

19:13- can confirm, the 2023 GX460 in Atomic Silver with Rioja Red interior does come with a 51 psi spare tire.

Hi Brock, Outstanding narrative video I’ve been watching your videos since you were working for Lexus all the way back to 2014… I purchased a 2018 Lexus GX 460 luxury and I loved it and then I traded it in 2021 for the LX 570 which was the last year … I am looking to recapture the 2023 Lexus GX 460 again hopefully before they start making them… If you can Brock, please make a video on the 2021 Lexus LX 570 luxury edition not the SUPPORT addition if you can, and do the same in-depth video with the 2021 LX 570 with the third row by the wayif possible I’d love your videos for years on the GX 460 and the LX 570 thank you so much. Hey, Brock... my only regret with this review is that you didn't have a sunny day to highlight that awesome Atomic Silver paint job. Coupled with that red interior, I also think that is a great combination. I hope Lexus retains this exterior/interior color option with the 2024 model.

I had the Luxury trim with sport design package with Atomic silver and red interior. Originally I wanted a white color but we had two white vehicles already and wanted a different color. The black color in the luxury trim is abundant and I almost bought it. I am so glad I got the Atomic silver. The color really shines in a bright sunny day.

Great video. Can you tell a major difference In drive quality from premium vs luxury? Is there a maintenance concern with the adaptive suspension on luxury down the road ?thanks

Thank you for this review. I actually test drove a luxury GX in 2022 but decided to go with the premium plus. I am disappointed that at that time you could only get the 360 camera with the luxury model, however there is also the multi terrain view as well. I've always admired the GX, I remember one of your other videos from years ago that you mentioned the GX being your favorite at that time. We have 2 other Lexus vehicles in our household. A 2019 RX 450h and a 2005 RX 330 that I drive almost daily to transport my dogs. That 330 has more luxury features than the newer vehicles. The seat warmer gets so warm it's like a massage. Not so on the newer ones. However, it is interesting to see the new GX when it is released.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your input - excellent points. I have noticed the heated seats as well. That’s one area where I wish Lexus would improve. The seats get warm but not hot.

I have 2 2022 GX460s premium plus sport design. One atomic with red and a white with black. I highly recommend getting one before they are gone. These 2 will be the last Lexus vehicles I ever purchase. I will never buy the trash they are putting now a day. If they ever bring back a V8 and come back to their roots I would 100 percent purchase another Lexus vehicle. I’m holding my breath for the 550 to get the 5.0 that’s in is500 to make it a real suv!

I was painfully torn between the Eminent White Pearl with black interior and the Atomic gray with red interior. Ended up picking white because I always wanted it in white, seems fancier. But I’m not in love with the black interior, can you make me feel better about my decision?? Lol

We have a 22 GX460, the dealer told me they have so many 23 in stock. Since they have a long waiting listing of 87 for the new GX550 they will have to heavily discount the 23. I’ll probably end up getting another V8 one.

I have a 2020 Land Cruiser and I kept my 2013 Land Cruiser with a low 87,263 miles on it. With all scheduled maintenance done by the dealership.. Since they don't import these anymore and I refuse to buy the Lexus GX with the V6 twin turbo which will cost a small fortune to replace and a weak V6. I will keep my Land Cruises as long as parts are made. These things will never go bad anyway.

Brock, I really appreciate your multiple Lexus videos, especially concerning the RX. I currently have a 2001 RX 300 so transitioning to a newer RX is a huge deal for me because of how incredibly different they are. I was recently swayed to a 2013 RX because of one of the videos where you shared that it now has auto-foldable side mirrors (something I've wanted for ages). The negative sway though is how it seems like Lexus has changed to donuts vs the full-size spare my car currently has. I've been doing lots of digging but am having trouble finding a solid answer to something. Do you know from 2013 to the present if any of the RX's still have a full-size spare? With the amount of driving, I do, especially in areas where you can drive for an hour and not even see a gas station I'm a little concerned about just having a donut. Are there any newer RX's that have a full-size spare or is there a conversion kit that I could purchase? Also, is there a webpage that has listed all the features of each different year? Thank you so much for any wisdom you could provide.

We had a 2010 RX and now have a 2020 RX. Neither had a full size spare, which is important to me, but they are of acceptable size. But at least they have a spare while many vehicles today don't. The whole no spare trend got started with the advent of garbage run-flat tires. I recommend the 3rd gen RXs made from 2010-2015. They are a great value and about half the price of 4th gen 2016-2022 RXs because they lack the frivolous tech of today's vehicles. When choosing a used 3rd gen RX the considerations are how worn and dirty is the driver's seat leather, does it have the obsolete navigation system which gets you the color screen rather than black and white, does it have too many miles on the odometer (like 200k), is it not baby blue, the condition, and the price. I saw a video that said if you get a 2013-2015 you can buy an Android auto/Apple CarPlay system for it. You can always throw a full size spare in the area behind the back seat. I always keep a Snap-On SN4B combination breaker bar/speeder in each of my vehicles. It doesn't help having a full size spare if you can't get the wheel bolts off that were hammered on by the tire store. I also carry a portable air pump and tire repair kit so I can fix the flat. It you are driving across Kansas on a weekend night you have to be prepared.

Thanks for the info. If I had my choice I would just buy another RX300 but they are hard to find with low miles. Definitely looking at the 2013-2015 range.@@drwisdom1

First to comment! I have the 22 Tundra with the new v6 bi-turbo....I thought I was going to miss the v8....but I didn't. I'm going to get the TX550 next because it has more room than the 23' GX. I needed it to haul my 3 boys around

The 2023 GX460 is the last Lexus/Toyota V8 truck/suv to be sold in the USA. The 570 stopped production years ago and was replaced with the twin turbo V6 LX600. End of an era.

Brock, my friend!! You're looking a little old lol (Don't worry I'm well into my 50s). One of the features the GX missed the mark on since the 2003 MY here in America, is height adjustable/air ride suspension on all four corners. Just having the rear defeats the purpose of having it. I have it in my GX and it's okay but would have rather had it on all corners. Great seeing you again.

Unnecessary adjustable suspensions are for vehicles you get rid of in a few years before the adjustable suspension breaks causing dangerous handling and expensive repairs. Toyota/Lexus vehicles are intended to be kept a long time, be economical to maintain, and not break. Adjustable suspensions work against those goals.

Great review and the GX460 has been a solid SUV. It's time for the GX550. The GX550 looks sharp. The GX460 never really looked sharp and hasn't aged that well. The 4Runner has been around a long time as well. However, it has aged significantly better. In fact, the new Toyota SUVs (GX550 & Land Cruiser) are following the lines of the 4Runner. A new 4Runner Limited or one of the off-road variants are still one of the sharpest SUV's currently on the market.

I am not excited about the super boxy look of today's off road styled vehicles. It is an anti-aerodynamics aesthetic. The boxy look is a styling trend that will pass like with the Scion Xb and Honda Element, putting wood looking stickers on the side of station wagons, and fake convertible tops. I have an old 1997 Toyota T100 that is pretty boring, but 27 years later that boring styling looks pretty good. I think the GX460 is a handsome vehicle, especially before the monster grill. While I think the current 4Runner is too sharp edged and aggressive looking. I like the styling of the previous generation 4Runners better.
