This How To video is in response to a KZfaq user requesting a tutorial on Rear Door Panel Removal for a 2013-2019 Ford Escape.

This really doesn't require too much and can be done in less than 10 mins after doing it once. All you need is a 7mm socket, extension, and then a small trim/pry tool to pop things apart.

Glad you got in there! Hey quick question on that- obviously it was stuck from what you said, but I feel like my back windows have ALWAYS struggled to go up with any real confidence. We've had our Escape since 2014 and it still does that. Hasn't gotten any worse, but it is just really weak. Was that what you were experiencing before it got stuck down, or was it just all of a sudden?

@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews yes. They’re struggling to come up quick. Even my passenger from one is going slower now. Funny though the next day I wrote my first message, it got warmer, and when I went to pop the panel, I gave it a try and the windows got up on its own. So I’m guessing, low temps definitely effect this

Can I ask where to find those 7mm screws for the door panel? And also the screws for the shroud that has to be removed for oil changes. Every time I have service done things are just never put back together right. Thank you!

Lol yes. Kind of. We have had a lot going on with family and had to pick up a minivan rather than splurge on a new transmission. The car still runs and will back out of the driveway but not much more than that at the moment. I think we will try to take care of it in the spring maybe after saving up a few pennies and seeing how much more videos can be made from her still. I'd really like to pick up a 2017 or so and start a next round of vids but gotta be patient for now. Life and family need to come first:) how are you John?

@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews, if yours is anything like ours we did the transmission and then the block failed/headgasket went. (199k on the clock). 194k on the original transmission.

I'm trying to replace some of the pins that have snapped off and the bolt on the bottom is missing along with the faster. What do you call it, or where can I get the part??

@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews Hi, we have a 2013 escape. There was a door latch recall on many of them but we were told ours isnt included so i gotta either pay someone or learn myself. Id prefer to do it myself and do labour myself

How does the window outer weather strip come off? I need to replace my passenger rear door and new door has wrong trim, I will also need to swap outer door handle.

So the chrome strip on the top of the door at the base of the window can be taken off pretty easily. We have a video of it on our channel if you take a look at our video library. In terms of the handle, it's not as straight forward but not crazy. There's a jack screw in the end of the door that releases a latch to hold the pull out feature of the handle. Im actually trying to film this next as a viewer had requested a door latch replacement tutorial and the handle is part of it. If you have time, look up "ford fusion door latch replacement" and there's a 17 min vid that shows the ford handle disassembly. I was trying to consolidate and speed it up in my video but its still really good info if you have the patience to sit through it. Good luck!

If you're asking how I gather info to make these videos, I have a shop manual and I also research forums and existing KZfaq videos and do my best to bring it all together as concisely as possible. Some videos are better than others but we try to spell things out reasonably. If this isn't your question please let us know. Thanks!
