String angle!! Finally adding that in reviews!! I love it.

That is one place where this bow really shines! Long ATA and fairly long string-to-string at full draw makes for a comfortable shooting position.

@@ApexArchery Hello again.. I would call this VERY long string to string at full draw.. I just measured my PSE NXT LD at 35 Axle to axle its string to string is 33.5" Soooooo
@ApexArchery
@ApexArchery 5 ай бұрын
@@kylemacdonell1450 completely fair - the Hoyt is king of string to string and string angle this year! Would be interesting to see a Mathews 34 or 34.5" platform - especially with those large cams. That said, the Mathews has way more limb deflection than Hoyt.

Love the limb deflection measurement with these reviews. Pretty impressed that Hoyt gets such great performance with minimal limb deflection. Great review, thanks for sharing.

I actually suspect that Hoyt's limbs are engineered to be stiffer and therefore to store the same amount of energy with less deflection. This helps to preserve a long string-to-string measurement, and may help reduce vibration as the axles move less as the shot is released - but that is just my theory :)

That makes alot of sense. I like the approach Hoyt took.@@ApexArchery

According to my research this was something HOYT added into the design to create a longer bow feel without carrying around the longer bow..

Nice! I shot the RX-7 Ultra for the prior 2 seasons and really enjoyed that bow. The RX-8 looks like a nice evolution of the platform. I think you'll enjoy it.

Any plans on doing a review on Elite?

Absolutely! I very quickly "test drove" the Elite Ethos at a bow shop when I was traveling earlier this year - that bow is 100% on the list!

The string angle is impressive. For comparison, my BowTech Reckoning 35 has a string angle of 40 degrees at a 28.5” draw. I will watch all your reviews based on this is the platform of bows I like to shoot. I know everyone has different criteria that they look for when they purchase a bow and mine has changed over the years. I know there are three things I will not sacrifice. Bow must have a rotating module, must be 1/4” adjustable and must have adjustable let-off. Kind of thins the herd. I know I spent a lot of money on modules last year and I won’t do that again.

Fortunately, as these bows get better and better it is perfectly fine to be picky! We should expect a lot from these flag ship bows. Really interesting to hear that you prioritize 1/4" draw length adjustments. All things being equal, I do like the adjustability - but I also feel that you can easily accommodate 1/4" adjustments with D-loop and cable twists, although adjusting that way is a bit more challenging than having it offered on the mod. And yes, Hoyt is doing a nice job with string angles this year! Check our review of the Alpha X 33 - nice string angle for a 33 inch ATA.

@@ApexArchery Watched the Alpha X 33 video👍 I’m 67 years old with diminishing eye sight. So string angle is important. So far the RX-8 has the best angle. Yep, been doing a lot of cable twisting over the years. I keep my d-loop at a certain length and won’t change it. Backing down a bow for indoors and just shortening the draw a quarter of an inch sounds very appealing.

You’re not in the softer setting when you shoot the bow, you need to switch the feet top to bottom and bottom to top.

Thanks for the feedback! I believe I had the feet in the "H" and not the "XH" setting - but I will double-check!

Seems like a short valley, from your letdown.
@ApexArchery
@ApexArchery 6 ай бұрын
Check the draw force curve at minute mark 10:00 - fairly generous valley! When I am drawing these bows I am always trying to draw fairly slowly because I am constantly analyzing how I think the bow feels. I think I just started to anchor a bit too early. Always a bummer to show my mistakes on camera! 😆

@@ApexArchery It is okay, I prefer the real, and seeing the draw force curve is great and more objective. A bow probably feels a lot smoother to pull on a day you don't lift...
