Perfect video, got my fan replaced in about an hour. Really appreciate the tutorial!

Thanks a lot for the video. I was able to switch out the fan with only a minor hiccup. I too had one screw left over. For those attempting this, keep your screws organized, there are a lot of them once you get down to the motherboard.

You skipped over what I'm having trouble with..... Getting the board out :(

Thank you, my 10 year old laptop has a new fan now and there were zero leftover screws. There were actually 2 missing under the keyboard which was weird since I'm the only owner and this was the first time I had it apart.

Great video. But beware, there is probably a 50-50 chance you'll damage something beyond repair in the process.

I voted down due to missing steps and failure to show what part was replaced. The fan itself or the whole assembly? The service manual have been posted by HP on there support website that gives better info then this video.

you can take the back cover off without the pin but by pushing the slide thing to take off the battery but in the opposide direction

You should've shown how to remove the keyboard....

Why do you skip main infos : detach upper cover, extract MB ? KB is not puched from under but from over with a blade !...

IVe got 3 teeny tiny screws i couldnt forgot to put it back. Where they might belong? lol Put my Laptop back together, everything is working so far. and the fan noise is gone, and even under stress, cpu doesnt go more than 61 C. And fan doesnt even go crazy fast and loud before :D thx

I replaced the fan in mine, everything works but the new fan runs top speed and does not slow or go off. The cores are between 45 and 50 centigrade. any help out there?

Rrrrrrggh. I've got a DV6 but your model is slightly different from mine. Or somehow I missed the microscopic screws under the fan that I should have removed first before mangling the old fan. Then I had complications and side effects. Somehow this turned into a five hour project. I'll echo j2d2, try making the video while doing the work, not telling us what you remember doing. I think you missed a few things.

Wow you missed some stuffs, you should delete this video and make a new one where you record when you take apart the laptop or people will destroy theyre laptop watching this video!

Dude, very informative but I'm dizzy from the constant radical camera movement, and very poor lighting....

This has got to be the worst "instructional" video I have ever seen.
