No instructions for returning the cartridge to HP for recycling?

I just bought a very low usage HP315 with only 600sqft of material printed on this printer. I will need to move it down a set of stairs and was told to remove the maintenance cartridge. Can I remove the maintenance cartridge without power to the printer? Is it possible to just open the door and slide it out so it can be moved downstairs as there is no power in the garage for it? Hi Bob, can I ask how you went? I have to do this also and have the same questions you had.

I had no issues. Pulled the waste tank and rolled it on the trailer and off at my place. Then carried it down a flight of stairs. It sat there for a week or two before I had power to it. But I put the waste tank in and it’s ran great since.

@@rcook999 Thanks for the reply and I'm glad to hear it's going well! One other thing I was concerned about, apparently the maintenance cartridge holds the head carriage in place. Did you not have any issues with it moving around after you took out the maintenance cartridge? Did you use tape or something?

@@OdsyMJ I did not secure my head but did have the printer strapped down hood. Needless to say no issues but it can’t hurt to secure the head. Just be careful not to mess with that clear strip along the print head rail.
