True, it's often overlooked especially when HP only had big chunky models a couple of years ago. Now with the different Intel CPU's, HP finally have a nice range of mobile workstations from the 15u, 15v, x360 and the 15/17's. With each review, I've fallen in love with the ZBook's. Is Xeon better than Core if I have a bunch of programs running, transferring 2 TB to other drives, uploading and downloading files, having around 50 tabs open in a browser, editing in photoshop, having 3 display connected to the laptop, all these things at the same time?

Don't waste your money in laptop can make ridiculous things, but if you have deep bucket that another thing But for your question go to Dell precision 7740 with I9, RTX4000, 64GB ram 3200 and 4TB Class 50 with RAID 0, this machine can be more powerful than desktop gaming PC

@@Dovecomputers This video was excellent. There are models available with a HP Long Life 3-cell, 52 Wh Li-ion polymer battery (rather than the HP Long Life 4-cell, 70 Wh Li-ion polymer). Obviously this would diminish the battery life. What is your opinion? Thank you

Thanks so much. The review model had a HP Long Life 4-cell, 70 Wh Li-ion polymer battery inside. In full max battery saver with general usage you will get around 7 hours. I found with more taxing things like Premiere Pro or Solidworks, the battery soon went down to 3-4 hours max. I love the new 8th Gen CPU's as the battery life is noticeably better and in battery mode the performance is still usable compared to the 7th Gen versions. - YL

@@teamtoken The performance is incredible, and it's handling heat just fine. Literally the only problem I have is that for some reason, if it's in sleep mode and not plugging, it'll occasionally wake up when I haven't opened the screen or touched the keyboard at all. I've just made a habit of shutting it down when it's not plugged in (not much of a problem since SSD is a quick startup/shutdown).

Didn't find any issues with the clickpad on the review model. Uses ELAN Touchpad Driver (Windows 10 v1809) which can be found on the HP support site if you type your model SKU number. - YL

Generally speaking, the ZBook 15v with Quadro GPU would be better for rendering.

Hi, the OMEN has a gaming graphics RTX GPU whereas the 15v has a CAD optimised Quadro GPU. Plus RGB lighting on the OMEN. Apart from that both very good laptops!

The HP ZBook 14u is the thinnest and lightest model. The HP ZBook 15v is the 'value for money' model. The HP ZBook 15 G6 is the mainstream version with full power CPU's (H/Xeon vs U) and GPU's. Finally you have the HP ZBook Studio range for 360 and touchscreen displays.

On the HP site, "Battery is internal and not replaceable by the customer" I don't think you can buy replacement batteries for the ZBook 15v online.

The dedicated GPU's that come with the 15v tend to be entry level so you might want to consider the 15 G6 with better GPU's.

In fairness, the ZBook 15v is the 'value' mobile workstation from HP, the ZBook 15 is more comparable to the P52. Having said that the P52 is an excellent workstation in its own right! - YL

You should try the zbook 15 G5 its slightly bigger brother for fan noise .. same cpu but a quadro p2000 and it sounds like a boeing 747 taking off at even medium loads. I had one of these at work over a standard issue 15v like the one in the video, although found the 15v is pretty loud too on all of our machines. I guess it's just the way they are.
