That's not an AR style civilian weapon, that has full auto capability, you can tell by the auto sear pin right above the selector switch.

I called 911 for armed robbery and had to call second time 30 min later. Took 50 minutes from 1st call for response. 15 minutes from Wal-Mart home office

That's not the first time HPD Swat set a rifle on the ground during an incident....... Check out camera footage of the Goodwill shooting, where a Swat member sets down his rifle during the incident...... No weapon should be unsecured by anyone, especially an officer, let alone a Swat officer. It's either secured by you or someone else. This is not the group of guys I would want to go through a door with. You can buy the equipment, but you can't buy the officer......

HPD SWAT is the one of the most trained SWAT teams in the US , why wouldn't you want to go through a door with them? Have you ever seen their raids, they for sure know what they are doing.

You ever been on the Katy freeway in west Houston? It's 26 lanes wide and takes 30 minutes just to get to a gas station. It's the widest freeway in the world and also has 2 HOV lanes and 2 toll roads in the middle. Give it a lookup.

Could be full auto. Swat stands for special weapons and tactics I’ve seen some swat with full auto mp7’s but who knows couldn’t see anything that showed It being anything more than semi

That’s not a semiautomatic weapon. That pin top center of the selector switch is a full automatic weapon. Luckily it got back to the team member.

It’s a 50/50 chance of it being full auto or semi auto the manufacturer of that lower makes it with three positions so it could be full auto or couldn’t be we have 0 way of finding out from that pic we’d have to see the inside

That’s a full auto rifle. You can tell by the auto sear pin directly above the semi auto pictogram on the lower receiver.

I recall that a Washington DC cop once took a bathroom break in a public place and left his service weapon behind and because he was the right color he didn't loose his job, in fact I believe he was promoted to a higher position his name is Police Lt. Michael Byrd, he is also the one who later shot and killed Ashley Babbitt on January 6, 2021. Mark my words the keystone cop that left this weapon in the middle of a busy parking lot could one day be our Chief of Police....God help us.

This weapon appears to be select-fire. This entire department should be reprimanded for allowing an NFA item to be left laying on the ground. Something along the lines of a $10,000 fine and ten years in prison for the entire department.

Oh, no! That officer is SO 🔥ed! If that was the army, automatic non-judicial punishment under Article 15 of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice(UCMJ) action as we used to say, (U)(C)an't (M)ess with (J)ackson 🎬, no questions asked, period! So, he may as well stick a fork in his career, he's done. That was totally irresponsible.
