There getting hard to find tho lol plus I did a full rebuild on a 3.3 a few years ago. My V3 Kraton is barely stock anymore lol this stuff take time! Especially with older models like the 5B! @@JK-qs9ig trust me bro! the Rovan is a total awesome bargain. I started with a cheap 30CC model and have never disliked anything about it. It was a total beat for the 450 purchase price, brand new.

hey bro! Congrats on getting a mint Baja 5b SS, truly one of the best models there are, and lets make sure the BAJA's stay in our Local Tri-State neck of the woods, lol. First thing you gotta do is check and/or upgrade to a modern radio system, preferably the Fly-Sky GT5. Then check spark, make sure you got spark before putting any fuel in, just a good way to do process of elimination if there is a problem. I have vids here where I checked spark btw. @@thebug4046 You got that right! I already run the killer bee kill switched on all my current gas RCs, btw. This one has some other type, I'll show it in a follow up video. ITs one I've ever seen before, some ancient design, but it seems to work fine.

hey my dude! thanks for watching! The shocks are actually quite awesome in this thing, I may not even mess with them for now. Right now I'm checking the entire ignition system and putting in a new radio with fail-safe, also checking the kill switch. This thing originally came with a 2 bolt 23 Fuel motor, which is just a CY engine. Currently this one has a modded zenoah, but I'm not sure on the CC or any other specs, but it needs a carb right away.

what's up Nitrogang VP of the Air division!! Yup man, Traxxas was killing it with innovation and bringing things in the RTR form back in the 90's. Today many people don't realize the insane innovations they Brought to this hobby. The monster buggy came out in the mid 1990's, way before the baja was even an idea.

@@hybrid32494 (Sorry, I didn't pick up on your use of past-tense as it applies to Traxxas innovation. I had already written the following.) Traxxas is innovative? They were at one time however, they haven't been in a long time. If anything they like to place patients on small tweeks to old innovation then bully the competition with there patent manipulation. (They took advantage of patent laws to their advantage then used it as a weapon against the competition. Part of what Traxxas used against its competition was nothing more than terminology/branding used to describe or label the design.) How innovative is the Traxxas 2wd transmission? Hint, it a POS yet remains the same! How innovative is the T-Maxx now? For that matter, how innovative is the X-Maxx currently? Excellent RC but, remains unimproved upon out of the box, since the 8s version came out. Most of their new products are simply reinvention/repurposing of previous platforms. Is the use of plastic driveshafts in $500+ RC's innovative? To label Traxxas as being an innovative RC manufacturer is purely reputation that has long since passed Traxxas by. They make good fun RC's but let's be honest about the brand. Any real innovation by Traxxas in recent history is comedic and little more. IMO which is contrary to innovation, Traxxas does not fix what's broke in future models. Have they improved their faulty one way bearing? Nope, the 2.5 and 3.3 engines still come with a POS of a one way bearing that easily collects dirt in the internals of the bearing. They don't even offer an upgrade that I'm aware of and they charge way too much for an identical and equally 💩 replacement. Have they addressed the E-Revo 2.0 problem with the rear links that break and bend far too easily? Nope! What's been improved in the Slash over the years? They put a VXL system offering in it but the rest is relatively unchanged making the weak parts even weaker. I don't take issue with people who like Traxxas RC's. If you invest in upgrades out of the box, they are fun and durable. Out of the box without upgraded however, they are not durable and are ultimately disappointing because it broke before running a full pack and now you need to wait for parts that you had to order. I know that's not everyone's experience, it depends on how you drive your's. Like I said, I understand people being a fan of Traxxas RC's but, I don't agree that Traxxas as a corporation is worthy of fandom. (Not at this moment anyway.)

@Ruger B LOL, ahha, YES, you're right. Considering there is significantly more variety with Nitro, I will choose Nitros just because of that. Also they are a much more manageable size and don't require mixing oil and gas. Both good and bad, but totally different. Did you see the Patreon mention of you at the end??

hey buddy! Good question, I get asked this often. In realty they are both different, I'd say I lean towards nitro because there is significantly more variety and a lot more competition in the segment with a high history of race winning designs. Plus you have much less liability and risk when running a smaller nitro, you know.
