@@eastsiderc May I have a link to what shim selection you use in this video? I am having spur gear,pinion mesh tightness issue on my King build.

If you follow what I did here you should eliminate that tightness. Sometimes though you can get a bad set of gears it has happened to me numerous times. But the shims I used are Team Fast Eddy shims from DDM daves discount motors. The part number is TR277 you can select between .2mm .5mm and 1mm get them all so you have options. These are hinge pin shims that work as a shim or washer for many different things! I keep them on hand always!!

@@eastsiderc ok, I loosened up and followed your instructions as well as loosened transmission case bottom bolts. Used paper in between gears during tightening of engine,transmission bolts. Mesh feels good now. My upper brake plate bolts were in fact too tight and caused some bind. No shims were needed as everything on my buggy is king parts.

Sounds like you may of gotten some water in the carburetor. You will have to take it off and clean it out with carb cleaner. Also if water got in the engine you will need to remove the plug turn it upside down and pull it over and try n blow out as much as you can.

Make sure you got the correct spacer behind the spur gear. And maker sure the center of the spur gear that pops out is fully seated into the gear this is kinda hard to help without knowing more information.
