Thanks for your help. I went ahead and ordered 2 online. I was not sure about replacing the backplate too, but since it was cheap, I went ahead and ordered one of those too. I'm no expert, the Savage is my first and only nitro r/c, and I've never really had to do any mechanical work on it. Thanks again for your time. I'll let you know how it goes.

I could use some advice. I have and HPI RS4 EVO3 with rotostart. The rotostart starts the engine fine. But I notice that when the engine is not running, if I turn the rotostarter by hand, it grabs a bit . It is cleaned and properly lubed. To be clear: In the normal startup direction, the one way bearing does fine. But the one way also seems to grab a bit in the opposite direction. My engine is stalling. It idles sweetly forever but if I throttle it, it stops and I am thinking that the one way bearing is suspect. This is a simple engine to tune. That is not why the stall happens. Also when it stalls, I hear a sort of POOF sound. The engine is clean and and has good compression.

Kool mods. Can't wait for your new Gopro footage. Shitty about your one way bearing, I know you can use axial one way as well. The axial 28 motor is the same engine and it might be cheaper. Well it was for me. Glad to see you using e-bay. Thumbs up. Cheers.

How do you install pullstart from a roto

Just dug out my Savage 25 after a year or two stored away. Bought new glowplug, fuel, etc. When I try the rotostart, it just spins... I do not hear any sputtering or compression. Would that be the one way bearing? Or what could have messed up from it just sitting away? Thanks for your help.

Just order the pin, don't get the whole bearing. If you have a roto start, GET RID OF IT, it eats your oneway bearings up like crazy.
