Just found your channel and I to miss HPI's glory days, it's very sad that they have become so close to failing. During the rule of the tmaxx I had a savage 25 nitro and it was an absolute tank!

I just revived my Savage Flux HP. Had it for years. With some extra time at home, my son and I are having a ball blasting the yard.

@Jason Perrin If you ever get the sway bar kit, it has little plastic pieces that cap the hingepins and you don't need the zip ties.

Do these truck need two battery’s connected from both sides to run ? I have one and only have one battery I think I need to connect a batter on the other side as well I have one dtx 4600 battery

I love all of my savages. I just bought this truck a month ago because I wanted to add it with my others. Do you know if there is anyone who makes center a skid plate for this? Im having issues finding one for this model.

Hey Jason, as I see you have swap the tyres and wheels did u use a hex adapter , Im using the integy kit but without the backplate, do u know of a better solution for this😉 the integy kit does work but think I'd rather not have the extra 5mm it comes with, I just wanted to use 17mm lock nuts and not the smaller hpi lock nuts🙄

I just bought a awesome shape roller like this almost identical but servo s under a big turtle shell type cover and servo looks hard to change the arm

over the years i have stripped a lot of wheels, even the pro-line wheels.... even with 17mm conversion. i am thinking of trying out Pro-Line Removable Hex Wheels setup. Any thoughts or experiences?

Kuo-Ting Yang Devine rebind the transmitter then calibrate it should be good...

Had an OG Flux back in the day & have always wanted to replace it, but the fact HPI continue with Philips hardware & have done nothing to prevent the hinge pins falling out have always stopped me. Really great truck though & still relatively unique among a sea of flat chassis bashers.

I have a savage XL Flux truck. I just brought a sway bar kit for mine and it comes with everything you need. And especially for that pan that sticks out it has a part that prevents that from happening it comes in that sway bar kit.

If you buy the sway bar kit, the kit will come with covers for the hinge pins.

What shock weight oil used here Jason, holds the road better than stock, tho I used 30 and its like a new car, it drives without steering from the rear, stock wa very squidgy I found🤔

@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs wow, the those tyres ARE that good, those and stock oils are great match I've now AE 30w shock oil all round Sooooooo much better, will u show how to relive the stress with larger wheels, I've some goliaths I want to use but not smash diffs🤔, Thank u for replying also Jason much appreciated 💯

I have an older savage 25 I got from eBay, and I was staring at the entire front assembly conparing the two. The stupid bumper mounts that the new ones have are actually bolted horizontally on the older bulkheads....and the tab that holds the pin is a square....which is better(????) The old bulkhead also has a big fat brace which was eliminated on the new bulkhead(??)

You can convert a 21 3.5 4.6 to a xl flux if you get those models for cheap that's what I'm doing I got a 21 and a 25 my nitro and my 21 I'm converting to an xl flux

Hi Jason could u tell me how to remove the receiver box once the inside screw has been removed, I tug and still it feels secured somewhat tho with a wobble, 🤔 short of rippin out are u able to give any advise or any1 eles reading this, thanx😎

Did you removed the “screws”? There is two in there. One under the receiver.

@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs hi Jason, yes I did the 3 on top and the 1 under the receiver itself also and I'd have to give it some to remove, just not sure if it's stuck with tape also or another screw somewhere🤔🎩

@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs I have the 112609 version and I see ur motor is not like the version I have, I have the ringed heats ink I guess ud say and u have square checks, I see only the 1 screw head once the lid is off 🤔

What I still don't like with this truck is the one tvp gearside. I can't find a reason they still went with the cutout, I think it's a dumb weakspot. And the plates are stamped or? It looked like stamped when you showed the ESC, hard to see but there are some marks of the stamps. And these axles ~. ~ nice review nonetheless, keep it up dude

ParRagon - that’s exactly what I don’t like, the tvp’s. And not to mention the lack of gearing choices because the spur gets way too close to the battery box when going taller. The receiver box I hate also, too tiny, harder to access, and just looks scrawny.

ParRagon - I have the xl flux, which is heavily built. It’s a sweet truck for sure. Still isn’t as cool as my flux hp xl though. Just a personal opinion I suppose.

just P. X they must have changed part way through production. Use the last of the castle motors and then switch to the full hobbywing combo.
