Well done, excellent idea to solve the problems of a poor design. Please show us your casting setup, I also do aluminium casting but have some issues with porosity, always interested to see how others do thing and learn from them. I like your machining videos, keep them coming. Thanks.

I did a video on my sister channel DIY Repairs. Add table salt to the aluminium as a flux, but wear a respirator. The moulds also needs to be clean and dry. kzfaq.info/love/0sAlmD2RKv5aclNpnh-jjg

Nice work! Any plans to fit a backlash eliminating double nut arrangement or a ball screw?

Thank Paul. These upgrades improved the cross slide quite a lot. I have learned to work around the backlash. If the lead nut wears out, I would settle for a ball screw and nut arrangement. Thanks for the support.
