I've "discovered" Beethoven more extensively at this late point in my life, and it seems to me that he was the genuine pioneer of 19th-century music, really paving the way for Schubert, Schumann and Brahms. And Orozco-Estrada, Norrington and other modern conductors have found out how to brush the cobwebs away from this genial musician and his music. It is a pleasure to hear (and see) them at work. A real public service. Many thanks! JAT

¡Bravo maestro Orozco-Estrada!

...this is still the absolutely most amazing version of this Beethoven piece! It burns itself into your brain... every single note takes us to another place entrancing us with a vision of beauty we can hardly understand! Listen, listen as close as you can and if you're alone turn it up fairly loud, close your eyes, and you will be transported to beauty itself!

According to some music critics, this is the greatest symphony ever written. I always thought 5, 7, and 9 were utterly fantastic, but I'm listening to this again with a new curiosity to determine what drove music critics to evaluate it higher than his other symphonies, especially#9. It indeed is a very pleasing musical production. Every time I hear Andrés Orozco-Estrada direct a symphony. I know it will be high quality. He certainly did not let me down with this wonderful performance. Thank you, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, for this wonderful performance.

The 3rd is considered special because it showed how much more was possible than had come before. It is probably more common to say it is the most important symphony than to say it is the best, but it is indeed great and the others paths that the 3rd introduced.

I think this performance was unnecessarily subdued. Orchestra is top-notch but I am afraid the rendition does not live up to the image of the revolution where many bloody heads were rolling.
@paulescudero9973
@paulescudero9973 4 ай бұрын
@@EnginAtik its subjective, but I think this was one of the compositions that Beethoven produced that helped move classical music into the romantic period. There definitely is some political overtones associated with the composition as Beethoven increasingly disliked Napoleon for proclaiming himself as an Emperor just in time for the battle of the three Emperors at Austerlitz.
@EnginAtik

@@paulescudero9973 I agree. This symphony was probably a revolution in and of itself in its premiere. I just remember it being more to the point with sharper edges from the recordings I remember from my chilldhood.

I love this orchestra and conductor! I loved how they all moved in sync at the height of grief @ 25:25. Could never get into watching Karajan for that reason; everyone still and in perfect formation. Our musicians must emote!!!
@lisahinton9682
@lisahinton9682 Жыл бұрын
@Katrina T. I find the swaying and wiggling about to be a silly affectation. "Our musicians must emote"? Absurd. They are there to play the piece accurately and beautifully, not jiggle about in their chairs like bored children in a church sermon. Highly distracting, frankly. This is the last I will watch this group. Definitely have had enough, as gorgeous as they sound. The wiggly-jiggly silliness is just too absurd for my tastes.
