The benefits of the screen laying flat are the following: 1. You can lay it flat in front of a monitor, connect to a monitor, and not have the laptop's screen in the way, whilst still using the included keyboard/trackpad. 2. When standing up and looking almost perpendicularly at the display, perhaps you are in a meeting, are connected to an external display, but use the internal one to set it up, move slides etc. In this case being able to adjust the angle of the screen all the way down is a must unless you want to crouch every time you need to do something. 3. When working against a wall, racking, electric panel or simply carrying it flat in your sidearm, if used in a work environment. You can even slot it open inside available space in racking area for example and have the required connectivity for diagnostics or scanning using a wireless scanner etc. 4. Whilst in bed, you can adjust the angle to prop the laptop sideways, you can use the laptop as a glorified tablet. Though I wouldn't recommend in case you cover the vents and the bottom.

Seems like a perfect choice when you are in quarantine and your old PC broke 😅

As a computer repair guy I find that using a USBC socket for charging is asking for trouble in a couple of years time when it wears out or gets knocked since the plug its sticking out of the side.

I wouldn't place this on anything but a flat hard surface for prolonged periods of time, as the vent is at the bottom. Making the argument against the speaker a bit redundant. I would have been nice to have speakers going through the keyboard with vents to the side and top, but this is not usually something you find at this price range, at least not when considering the rest of the build quality. Clearly this range of laptops suffer mainly from poor displays. Rest seems to be in line or better with the competition. I haven't tried the Intel version, had a few Ryzen ones, and the battery is great on these.

I'm trying to decide between the AMD versions of the Matebook 13 and the Matebook D 14. I'll be using it for general browsing, media and word processing. How much better is the screen on the 13? I'm worried I'll find it too small as I sometimes have two windows side by side. I also think I prefer the 16:9 aspect ratio because I watch a lot of stuff, but then a better screen would be good for that. The 13 is £650 and comes with a free tablet randomly ( I'd probably sell it) The D 14 is £550 with the 256GB or £650 with the 512GB SSD. Thoughts?
