They can't even operate their escalators in their stores due to cost savings.

It started in the 1980's with the consolidation of regional department stores and then selling the same thing in all the stores.

Bad idea, Richard will strip Neiman Marcus of all its assets followed by Neiman having to pay rent, reduce staff and than start closing stores, look what he did to zellers , the bay , lord and Taylor and Saks, dont say I didnt warn you!

that's the whole Baker VC model unfortunately - they are not in it for retail

I agree, the service of The Bay Store is getting worse, they are always understaffed, and they put some on sale items as final sale so that items can't be returned. I shopped there less often now.

you bet, hbc will strip all assets and sell them and than make neiman pay rent and than start the reduced staff levels and dumpy stores

Neiman Marcus knows their customer? What? They don’t even know what designers are popular. I worked there and they are very much out dated and it if touch with that their customers want. If they did they wouldn’t be in financial problems right now.
