Different lovely species, most especially that Bass!!! It is an enormous slab..a 9-pounder?! Woohoo!! Maybe that's what caused fracture before the net snapped. Supposed to be a big fimily-sized meal..haha. But net won't let you go empty, got another keeper for a delicious breakfast! How lucky is that? So lovely to see this after sending kids to school. WOW,that was probably your best yet. The pipe fish was enormous,never seen one anywhere near that size ! Can't believe you caught those bass in a net either,and fair play for returning the first one. My favorite way to cook bass as well.I think you're going to need a bigger bbq too !!!!

Great stuff. Your sheer enthusiasm is contagious. If you look on a satellite map just south of Samphire Hoe (near Dover), you'll see a mark where the rocks form a large crescent shape. I may just get a shrimp net and have a go there on a good night. I'm fishing a mark on the second hole of the Cinque Ports Golf Club tomorrow night. I don't have the confidence to take my cooking equipment, but I hope to get some good sport, even if it's only Dogfish!! Thanks for the video, and keep it up!!

Awesome video, have you ever tried wrapping the fish in newspaper then soaking it in water and putting it on the fire?? It steams the fish but also gives it a smokey flavour too. When it's cooked you peel the paper back and it takes the skin with it, it's never failed for me and when you're done you can burn the paper!! By far my favourite method. Jeep up the great work, all the best, Dave Finn.

Now I know where the expression, “Slippery as an eel” comes from. They are very fast! Great catch, Jay! The bass is a beautiful color and huge. I think it will weigh 7.5 lbs. I do not eat fish except for tuna as a salad with plenty of mayo, chopped onion, celery. Glad you enjoyed your catch. Take care and be well!

Jay, get yourself a grill grate and cook the fish over a campfire. Out of this world! Season the fish inside and out and use a lime to squeeze over the fish meat. you'll love it!
