My only 2 bits I disagree with: The buster call isn’t meant to be a danger to the straw hats or anything. It’s just signaling that marines no longer care about saving anything and are essentially done with the island and Vegapunk. The only thing at risk of being lost is information and tech on the island. The other one might be a hot take, but laffitte terrifies me and I think he’s going to be massive for the bb crew. He’s obviously a huge part of their strategy and has some insane feats of infiltration. Maybe I’m completely wrong about him, but him infiltrating the warlord meeting still is crazy to me

Bro the thing about the buster call is actually scary and a big deal to a lot of people still especially ROBIN-chhwwaaaannnn is because of how many normal people will lose their life to a bombardment of cannonballs and explosions or at least the detriment of losing the very ground their family’s home was on. If the actual attack doesn’t kill the souvivors, then the aftermath just might finish the job even for our hero’s. You know, something has been bothering me. We never got the context for why some of the Vegapunks resemble Ginny. It wouldn't do anything for Bonney, and for Kuma it would probably be lowkey painful. What if Oda is keeping someone from us? The someone Vegapunk asked for help. A clone of his daughter, who he lost long ago. Ginny. Wiretapping is a technical skill that Vegapunk as an outlaw scientist would probably know how to do. The Vegapunks resemble Bonney because they are female expressions of Vegapunk's genes in a similar way to Ginny. I'm just gonna come out and say it. I think Big Mom is Ginny's mom. Im late to this one but i agree with the both of you in that buster calls have been a bust. Ohara - the buster call didnt even kill anyone important besides Nico Olivia if you count her. Spandam's father shot Professor Clover before the buster call even started. Saul & Robin both survived so only fodder got murked. Enies Lobby - literally everyone escaped only fodder and some marines were murked. So maybe, just maybe, this 3rd times the charm.

We shouldn’t be surprised with buster calls being useless, especially against top tiers like Douglas bullet. Oda understands how strong his characters are, so of course a few ships firing cannon balls wouldn’t be so intimidating against the insane feats of strength like casually destroying a meteor. We honestly shouldn’t be comparing GARP to a mere buster call. Garp is able to box with a man that can destroy the world, ofc a single garp or a single mihawk is more intimidating than a buster call.

I think luffy is recovered the same time as kizaru and recognizes the threat of Saturn and will return to the battlefield with gomu gomu no robot possessing the iron giant and has the food machine inside with him so he can keep up with Saturns regeneration

Think about it like this, remove all of your preconceptions about Monsters and OP. When you watch the Monsters OVA, at the end you’ll interpret the ending as simply “Ryuma’s zombie encounters a green haired swordsman”. The other option, trying to justify its not the same verse, would be adding “In another universe…” before with no justification. There are no queues or hints given by Oda or the animators to come to this conclusion. Ignoring any conclusions brought about by anything but things actually in the OVA, I think its safe to say OP and Monsters anime are in the same world. Otherwise why would a OP scene play in an episode of Monsters with no explanation?
