Looking closely at the Companions, they look like they will be 3 to a box with an alternate build to each body. Very similar to some of the other recent kits, like the inquisitor one for kill team. The easiest one to tell with is the standard and the one with the lowered sword. You can see the exact same stance and keys next to the auto reliquary.

Sadly yes... 3 base torso sets, and the censer/halo on their pack is identical. Not to mention the tactical stone legrest. A 5box would be nice, but it is 100% a trio. Oh well, the extra bits will be really nice for some kitbashing. They will look fantastic on sternguards or 3DP bodies with some greenstuff.

I'll be annoyed if they remove the Deathwing Ancient and Apothecary. Mostly due to the fact that when 10th came out I labouriously converted one of my deathwing termies into an ancient (before 10th I didn't really want one, but it was needed once 10th hit). And if they get rid of it, I'll have to convert it back again.

There has been a leak and there will be only three Inner Circle Companions in a box, you can even see that the poses repeat on the photos, giving us 2 build options for each space marine.

A lot of the new stuff looks ace. I am gutted about the likely loss of the command squad though, and the potential to not mix weapon loads outs in our terminator squads. If the command squads are still in the codex then they may release them at a later date, but I would odds on they are gone 😢

I had battle for macragge in 2004(?) then took 20 years off. Just got Leviathan and been painting the marines as Dark Angels. Had no idea 2024 was going to be dark angels' year.

Btw the advent engine images that are confirmed DA skeleton and storm bolter for Belial and the the standard, the insense, and the sword with the scabbard on it is on the back of the standard holding companion if people didn’t notice or if I’m wrong please correct me i just decided to go back and take a look after the reveals this morning

I was really hoping I'd get to field The Risen in my slightly renegade Unforgiven chapter, and I'm very happy to see that I will! All of this looks great. We've had to manage some expectations with the options for new models these days, so I'm glad to see that we got this much personality available here.

Ran a brick of 10 deathwing knights the other day. Man are they scary. Captain to give them free armor of contempt when it mattered. Sure they cost more than a baneblade, but many are they much harder to kill

I've found a Chaplain to be more effective with them. +1 to wound gives them pseudo S11 attacks.

@@RevanR They'll get their own kit or more likely an upgrade kit for the outriders to make them Ravenwing. Hopefully the former though. I suspect they'll get their own variants of the Storm Speeder too. They've got to replace the Lands Speeders with something flavourful.

I'm honestly a little cautiously optimistic considering GW's track record on reveals lately. They keep teasing these "Huge" reveals and most of them have been pretty middling so far. This reveal was alright but honestly, only refreshing one wing of the Dark Angels and then phasing out a key squad (Death Wing Command Squad) to homogenize the Terminator kits into solely the Deathwing Knights (which honestly seem pretty generic looking imho) there's not much else that leaves to real optimism for me. It's a shame, but we'll see what we'll see I guess.

Very nice reveal. In regard to the Companions, I think its a case of cross the Rubicon or you're obsolete. They're sporting "house insignia" that harkens back to legion times. Merry Christmas AT. 🎄

It should also be noted that the Deathwing Assault Box has 3 Homing Beacons in it, meaning that the Death Wing Terminators and Death Wing Knights will both have to have rules changes. Hope they have a good rules glow up. They aren't bad now, but I feel like they could use something a little extra to make them really compete with the cheaper generic terminators.

Wonderful Dark Angels reveal for Christmas! #merrychristmas I’ve been planning to start a Dark Angels army ever since I bought The Lion and Retinue box last year. The Deathwing Assault army box is perfect because I wanted a Deathwing army anyway. By my math, the box will have 720 points of Dark Angels minis, which is better than average compared to the Battle Force boxes. Combined with The Lion, his 3 Vanguard Vets, and the DA half of last year’s Soul Forge King box, I should have 1675 points. That’s a great start!

Not getting full terminator models for the DA makes me scared for what the space wolves upgrade sprue is going to be. Might pick up a couple current wolf guard terminators just in case....

looks like everything is getting toned down, themes wise. Less iconogrophy, pelts etc . Looking to cut of parts from the wolf guard terminators and put them on the new sculpts myself.

It makes more sense.. use the baseline terminator kit with upgrade sprues to give flavor. Less individual boxes to store, and GW can still sell you a bunch of plastic…

Well to be fair the death wing knights got their own box. I wonder if they just didn't want to do 2 terminator boxes for dark angels. Plus I wonder if you'll be able to kitbash a bit with leftovers from the knights to spruce up regular death wing termies. I'm holding out hope that blood angels, space wolves, and black Templar all get a unique terminator box.

All I can say is I hope every loyalist chapter gets to shine and be represented in this way someday because I have to admit when GW gives a solid W to the community. This box will sell out instantly no matter how many they make. Im not a DA players and lowkey jealous but happy for the player base and fans of the DA. I cant wait to see what is all going to be revealed for their refresh. Its truly a great direction to go for GW. I hope they keep this up for the new year because this year was pretty nice for them outside of the few killteam set backs

The box art shows a Chaos Terminator lord with thunder hammer, the hammer is exactly like the normal chaos lord's, but I'm hoping that means a new chaos Terminator lord kit, hopefully with as many options as the one now.

Hopefully they don't get rid of the old kit; replacing all that customisability with another crappy monopose HQ would be a tragedy IMO, though it would be on track with how GW seems to hate CSM.

What I'm hoping for the command squad is that they are holding it back for a separate release, this would be a smart strategy for GW to get us to buy both this kit and their standalone box. We've seen differing model releases already for the new Terminator captain and its leviathan variant
