Hi i am 72 yrs old and i love armani luminous silk its a light to medium. coverage and i have just found Tom ford both primer and foundation and i have fallen in love with them both ! yes expensive ! but my goodness i will buy them always now yes i have only recently found them about six months and gosh i just love them ! i use buff shade , with dior concealer lovely ! its worth a sample to try ! good luck my regards liz x

I love that you provide your skin type in the description box AND that you always remind us when you apply, do a try on, or describe a specific product AND that tell us the information on the product. Skin type affects everything from skincare, makeup to sunscreen. I’m with you I’m 60 and I have a yellow/olive skin tone with dry skin. Kosas is hard to find my shade match. It cosmetics is ok on me but for summer it’s to light. Colourpop worked well on me the Pretty Fresh. Actually the best foundation on me was Shisiedo, Quartz but it’s always sold out! Have a great weekend Tamara!

Hi Tamara foundation is tricky with super dry skin and most look of the really hyped ones look terrible on me. I don’t tolerate alcohol higher up the INCI list at all eg Dior forever glow newer version (fabulous shade match in 00 but made me look twenty years older). Unfortunately many of the ones you love don’t have pale enough shades for my skin including EL, CT and IT. I really love the Mac F&B for my dry skin and I am almost finished the bottle (which is rare for me). I used the Lancome teint idole in the Summer for many years in shade 008, but that shade is no longer available in the reformulated version 😢, so I’m on the hunt for something else. I went to Edinburgh on Monday and came back with several samples, so hopefully I can find something good (if I find a winner I will let you know). I always get samples of higher end foundations before buying as here in the UK we can’t return opened makeup. A mistake is therefore an expensive error. Best wishes

If you go by actual number vs type you did get rid of 50%! Well done. I like variety sometimes but can't reasonably use up so many foundations before they go bad so I need to pare down my collection as well.

I had given up on finding my perfect foundation until Kimberly at Pretty Over 50, demonstrated Revlon Illuminance Foundation a few weeks ago. Oh my goodness, its amazing on my dry mature skin. I am going to use my remaining foundations on top of my feet when I wear sandals. Sounds silly, but a little foundation makes my painted toenails pop.

Listening to all your comments and looking at all these foundation, I realize that I need to find someone help me find the right shade. Also, in my late 50s, I was sticking to matte foundation to avoid looking oily but if I use a tiny bit too much I look OLD! Now I know that I need to accept the silkier types. You definitely helped narrowing it down

I just received my order from Lisa Eldrige for her new facial mist and cleanser. They are glorious! With it I received a sample card of her foundation. I am so glad I didn't order it. As you said it is extremely dry on my 67 yr old skin. I also just returned the Haus foundation. It too was too dry.

We are the same shade in Estee Lauder, but Revlon did not produce shade 200 in their illuminance foundation and I hope they did not discontinue the shade. It has a beautiful neutral slight peach undertone.

OMG I had to fight myself to not go count up all my foundations but I probably have 11 too. And at least half the days all I wear is moisturizer with sunscreen.

After much procrastinating (due to fails because of Hot & Flashy recommendations - probably because she and I have different skin types) I bought Pixi's color corrector. I LOVE it! Thanks for that recommendation.

Hi i am 72 yrs old and i use Tom Ford foundation and Armani Luminous silk foundation , i love both ! i do use Tom ford primer which i highly recommend! i know how you feel my skin is the same as yours ! however i have always used estee lauder skin care since i was 16 yrs old .and have only very few fine lines i am very lucky , but i can say i will never ever change my foundations yes expensive but well worth every penny i spend on my foundations.

I had 9 foundations and was overwhelmed with that since I am not an influencer, but easily influenced. The CT Beautiful Skin was my first high end foundation. I liked it at first but found others I liked better. I used about half but she had to go! I kept the ABH (of course😉), L’ORÉAL True Match (bought because of your review and love it), Haus Labs (Kiki made me - lol) and NARS Light reflecting (tough shade match. Deauville works this time of year but won’t repurchase. I did toss a different shade that did not work at all and should have returned.) Kiki just reviewed a new foundation that looks amazing and tempting me. But will wait until I reaaaally need it! I hope. Happy Sunday!

Hi Tamara, I feel you. I also had to give away my 2 Lisa'S foundation. I felt my skin drying out under the foundation and it was very uncomfortable to wear (no matter how much moisturizer and hydration and sunscreen I would use under it). I am so sad, because I really liked the look of it on my skin. :(

I love the new Loreal Tru match on my 55yo combo oily skin. The light weight makes it my everyday foundation. The L'Oréal balm was too greasy for me.

I should repurchase another It Cosmetics foundation. I’ll have to look out when it’s on sale. I so appreciate how detailed your declutter is. Very informative. I tend to have to buy two shades. But I’m finding that if I buy a drug store darker shade I’m bake to use it to adjust my lighter shades.

Hi. Have you ever tried the lloreal infallible ? Do you have any recommendations for wearing products that have hylauronic acid. All foundations seem to have and while moisturizing it can be drying if you live in a dry climate like Az.

Is this the only category you decluttered?

I would love the kosas foundation if it didn't go bad quick or have issues matching my skin tone. Even tho I'm rather fair and usually the lightest shade in most foundations the kosas didn't have good cool or neutral undertone options

I am always a bit confused about "winter" and "summer" shades of foundation. If you use sunscreen in the proper amount every day why would skin color change in the summer? I use the same shade year-round.

I’m surprised to hear you gave your Bare Minerals to Claudia since it was your No 1 tint. Have your feelings changed about it or is it hard for her to get in France? I’ve tried it several times and it shows my dry patches every time. Which is sad because I like everything about it. I also like the L’Oréal balm because it doesn’t get into fine lines but the shade Light 10 is a little too warm for me (and Fair 20 is too fair) I think I’ll try the CG. The shade looks more neutral than the L’Oréal and I do like balms
