That macbook is a 2008 13" Aluminum Unibody, and it was missing the HDD, not the battery. And the battery is likely shot and replacements for those are hella expensive.

Appears to be an early aluminum unibody MacBook. It had the battery but no hard drive. I still use one as my personal computer and they’re still good computers today. One of the last MacBooks you can still work on without a lot of tools.

My mum actually bought one of those protective cases they cost for like $100 or something and she also had to buy for my sister because she literally begged and I was like what the hell you’re not putting that stupid thing on my phone I don’t care if that protects my phone it looks ugly it was a brownish colour because they both were the pretty colours I’m not buying anything that’s ugly😅😊
