There was probably a Russian sub nearby and they didn't even know it. Kinda reminds me of the cod war with Iceland.
@WaterburnerActual
@WaterburnerActual Жыл бұрын
I was stationed in Iceland from '75-'77. The USO had fish fry's on Fri & Sat nite. The fish was cod, procured from Icelandic fishermen, fresh off their boats. We definitely got our money's worth, as the folks from the USO took care of us with the amount of food, the recipes used, and even had on one occasion, crew members present to see first-hand, how much their catch was enjoyed. Ironically, there was very little said about the Brits. Regarding the fish, it was some of the best I've ever had, second only to the fresh salmon caught in Alaska, and smoked.

I love how they think the missile was fired because of them, if it was Russia would have aimed it closer to them and not over them. Though that does make me wonder WHY it was fired

@haleyhoag8640
@haleyhoag8640 Жыл бұрын
@@slickric1027 that definitely seems more likely. Cause it didn't land near the boats. It clearly wasn't some sort of attack on the US (cause that DEFINITELY would have made national news) and there isn't even any reports of an explosion in the water somewhere

They didn't think it was for them, they thought they accidentally started WW3 and it was possibly a nuke. No country would fire a long range missile at one fishing boat they would just use the navy like the guy said in the beginning of the clip.

I wonder if the Captains made a call over to the US Coast Guard? I would think the USCG would be interested in a Missile being fired toward the US.

It wasn't fired toward the US. Normal missile testing and practicing, that's all. The US does that, Russia does that, Uganda does that, every country with a military does that. Information about this test can be found from internet.

Seems russia has been testing some New Anti-Ship missiles from their subs in the pacific artic regions. Last known test launch was Sept 10th 2022 in this test series. But sure they had a target drone or ship down range & not a shrimp boat for a target.

Is there a specific way to use the flare if you are in trouble?
@ATankNamedSteve
@ATankNamedSteve Жыл бұрын
I would assume as straight up as possible, probably a 90 degree angle. Theirs looked like it was just fired in a haphazard arc low so as not to draw too much actual attention. This is not 100% factual information, it's just a guess Also, aren't there different colored flares? Might have been the cameras but it Iooked like one fired orange and the other fired red
