The sound of picking these sounded so satisfying in this video for some reason😂 nice haul. Our spot produced about 250 this year
@olenajohnson99802 ай бұрын
I usually pick far gone and toss them as far as I can or put them in paper bag and bring to promising spots. In my experience, it takes couple years for them to show up, but at least half of them started producing. And you can do it to pretty much with any wild mushrooms😊

Congrats Catman. About 30 yrs ago my brother and I weren't 100 yds from the car on a farm in West central WI. I went to check out a tree, he went to another. I filled a paper grocery bag of giant yellows from that one tree. He called me up the hill. When I got up there he said, Watch your step, they're everywhere. And they were. We filled 5 grocery bags, all we had. Went back to the car, dumped them in the trunk and continued. We came upon another spot where there were at least 100 and they were all toast. Found another 2 giant trees close to each other, filled all 5 bags again, but the last tree was thick picker bushes with nettles all around. Mushrooms everywhere under there. We were picking to sell. My hands and arms tingled for 2 days. Nettles don't really bother me anymore. Love your videos. Good Luck Turkey hunting.

Good Lord that was outstanding brother. I use plastic bags as well, usually one laying around when it’s time to jump in the woods. The only problem with those plastic bags in my situation is most of our property where the morels grow is mixed in with a million blackberry briars. Had my bag get sliced open on a few occasions.👍🇺🇸

May I suggest going to a dollar store and getting a few mesh laundry bags. Happy hunting

@@auntchar101 I always say I’m going to do it then put it off, next thing you know I’m at the farm and the mushrooms are up and I’m no where near anything so out comes the darn plastic bag again. I’m gonna do it this year….. I think😂👍🇺🇸

Good Lawd!! Nice job! I found 140 yellows so far here in middle Georgia this year. Not nearly as large unfortunately. I’m going to check again tomorrow or the next day since we had a bunch of rain, but I’m thinking we are winding down around these parts. Congratulations on the awesome find.

How do you know if they are bad or good to pick? Also, heard people asking how you know what ELM TREE BARK LOOKS LIKE? WHAT KIND OF ELM ? I've never found 1, would be fun to at least once. Are you finding on damp hillsides, or does that matter? Also, any ground plants that might be associated with them? Thanks in advance!

forget the mesh bag. if youre picking young fresh morels, the spore spread is negligible but theres a better reason not to....on a big haul, youll shred your morels up.

The mesh bag thing is a meth in my opinion I have never found morels on the paths I have taken for years. But I use a mesh bag bc I think they keep morels fresher and don’t get caught on thick brush and briars. My count is 305, NKY area we have about a week left, good picking catman!
