It’s always a stop down to see a Hike Oregon gear video . I have several things from OV , their all great so far . I’m hiking the AT this year so I’ll get good use of them.

Darn. You made me give in and order the Satu pants. It seems like almost everything they make looks almost ideal.

Oh, one other potential idea / topic for a summer video: “Oregon hikes with swimming holes”. We are always trying to find new hikes near Eugene that offer user friendly swimming holes / lakes / etc.

I wrote a book all about the best lake hikes, so I probably won’t give away all of those awesome swimming spots in a KZfaq video. Check out the book on the website www.hikeoregon.net

I thought of an idea for a car camping video. How about getting a Matfer carbon steel skillet. It would be interesting to see your experience on seasoning and then cooking on the pan. Another pan that I own is the Fry Bake pan. Large but lighter then carbon steel and can be used for short back pack trips (4-5 miles).

Looks like a great haul! So glad you got to have that experience! Question: I think you've said before that the Outdoor Vitals backpack wasn't large enough for some of your longer trips. Do you think that might change now that you have some more lighter (and presumably smaller?) gear?

I’ve been able to take it on 4-5 night trips, the only trips I can’t take it on are ones where I have to take the bear canister because of the way the canister sit on my back, it is too painful with my back condition that I have. But other than that, it’s been working great.

@@HikeOregon oh that's good to hear, thanks! About the pack, that is, not your back!

@@HikeOregon I'd love to see how you use a bear canister as it looks like I'll need one in the Olympics this year (also have the Shadowlight...). Perhaps you've made a video that I haven't seen.

Video topic idea: Family “kid friendly” hikes in Oregon. We took your advice last year and hiked up Mary’s Peak with our kids (parked down below snow line and hiked up above snow) and had a blast….

While I do love my OV gear, all the cut edits in your video every 3-8 words was extremely distracting.

I don’t think anyone wants to watch an hour long video full of ummms and hmmmms and dead air. Looking forward to watching a better video over on your channel 😉.
