That's what I thought. Watching that cat be in that condition made me mad for the cat, his owner is doing a disservice to her cat by letting this happen over and over again. Shocking. If I was the vet, I would do what I go to do to rehome the cat. My tuxedo cat, Tux, looks just like him so it tugged on my heartstrings.

maybe the owner doesn't "let" him out, cats can be very sneaky, they also have young children so it is very possible that the cat get out, not that it is let out. my cats where not outdoor cats and i had my male cat fixed as soon as he was old enough to be neutered, yet he still would sneak out. i thought we took all desire to roam away by getting him neutered before he got those hormones thst cause cats to want to roam. so to be fair we don't know the situation

Can anyone tell me why they have these horrible ticks but no one seems to put their animals on medicine for ticks?? It makes no sense to me. Most flea meds contain medicine for ticks as well. Are none of these animals on flea preventative either?
@HebiRein
@HebiRein 2 жыл бұрын
Most people are responsible and put collars/treatment on their pets. The ones we see in the episodes are the owners who don't use preventative treatment or are unlucky enough that the ticks have stuck even with treatment. So in the episodes we see a tiny minority(probably also shown to raise awareness).
@bringbackbeatles

I’m not sure, but I was under the impression that preventative tick treat does not work for paralysis. They are ticks native to that part of the world. There are other kinds of ticks that obviously do work with prevention.

A recent youtube video shows us in Newark NJ, the video is named ' Volunteers give migrating birds injured in N.J’s biggest city a second chance ' Also TRT made a older video when we first started named ' Window Strikes in the Business District ' of us picking up Warblers. We bring the injured to TRT (The Raptor Trust)for a 2nd chance, they nurse them back to health.

That girl with the puppy is so annoying. She claims to love Nala but if she loved the pup, surely she would do anything to make sure Nala was going to be well, like staying at the vet where if something does get much worse there is immediate care. What if when she took Nala home that breathing does become a problem and she has to wait the travel time to the vets to get the treatment but ends up dying because it was too late? Sure, being parted with your pet for a night or two feels horrible, but being parted forever because the pet died is so much worse

I have one long haired tuxedo that recently had a lion's cut & a tick was found on him. (Plus 2 other tiny, tiny beige ones) Ricky only goes on my cement patio while I stay with him, so I don't know how he got them. I have ferals & homeless cats that I feed. I'm keeping the patio swept & all common areas clean. Thanks for such an enjoyable video!!!

Anyway guess maybe I'd try to build like a caged inclosure so the cat could still look up at the stars but not run around in the brush with the ticks .. my grandparents lived on a farm in Idaho here thirty 38 miles from me and her cats were all living outside abd they all had flea and tick collars as well as her dogs that were indoor outdoor ..

Not allowing your animals to free-roam is a great way to prevent it

The poor Toby cat should tell her mom to keep her in the house!! Where she'll be safe from ticks!! Not rocket science.

What I don’t understand stand is why do Toby’s owner keeps letting him go outside. Ticks don’t walk into a house because they live outside. If this happened to my can even once, my cat would stay indoors from then on. Australia has too many deadly insects, snakes and other things that can end your animals life. Better inside the house. Poor guy.
