Huge Tarp Wall In Campground

Who says it's rude to put up a 50-foot wall of tarps around your campsite to keep your privacy? I went camping this week and the campground was busier than I prefer, so I hit the farm supply store and picked up some economical tarps that turned my 2-star camping experience into a 3-star!

I was briefly homeless myself during the pandemic. Your tips and tricks gave me the confidence to just make a tent work for a bit until I figured something else out. For every offended person, you have tens of thousands of inspired and grateful friends. We love you Steve and pre congrats on the MILLION!

Agreed. I am always worried about ending up back on the streets. I was homeless 24 years ago. I never want to go back. But, if I did...Steve has shown me some pretty cool tricks to survive a lot better than I did last time. I appreciate that a lot.

Steve inspired me to live more minimalistically. You can have just as good of a time, if not better, with less comforts. Living too comfortably just takes the meaning and pride out of everything you do. Being homeless isn't something to cry over. It's freedom and an opportunity to learn. A hobo is a virtuous person that lives on only what they need and isn't burdened by anything

This is amazing! Thank you, Steve. I’d be surprised if I could do this at a State campground here in the USA. The first ranger to drive by and see it would likely enter the tarp fortress without warning and demand to know what I was up to. They’d then order me to take down the tarps. If I asked what rules I was breaking they wouldn’t answer. They’d just angrily reply that I could either take them down immediately or get out. It’s great to see that this kind of harmless fun is still allowed in some places.

I recently gotten out of a homeless situation, quite a few years in and out, I love your videos. You do some really good work putting these videos together. I didn’t want people to assume that I was homeless, so I maintained hygiene and cleanliness daily. When I finally felt comfortable telling others at work, they were shocked that I was. I think it’s all about how you carry yourself, which you seem to do quite well.

The fact that he drives completely out of his site with the camera still there knowing that he has to drive back or get out and run back to pick it up just makes me giggle. Just started watching a few days ago and I can’t stop. You’re an inspiration and a legend 🍻

I still remember stumbling on your channel even before you had 10k subs. I'm just glad you never got too fancy or anything. This roughing it out in the woods style video is just a delight; reminder to us all that you can still have a good time if there is a will. Keep it up.

Great layout for the campsite so you had the best of both worlds: privacy and the blessings of nature. Also, I love the cooking setup and meal plan! Very portable, and minimal prep and cleanup. I'll have to look for one of those pie ovens because that looks like a must-have. Thank you for the videos, Steve. You have taught me a lot about how to enjoy the experience by spending a lot less time lugging all sorts of stuff and taking for ever to set it up, and spending much more time enjoying CAMPING. 🙂

3k from a million and Steve’s so cool I haven’t ever even heard him acknowledge it until now. A real class act and a Canadian national treasure! The man who got aggravated from your videos is just a man who once again can sleep on a mattress under a roof again. He sounds traumatized by his homeless experience. With that said I think he missed the whole point of this channel.

I still remember my first CWS video - it was the one where he spends the night in the back of a rented white van during a cold snap. KZfaq recommended it to me and I clicked because it sounded kind of intriguing. Got hooked immediately, subscribed, binged all the unwatched content etc. There's all sorts of tricks to get views (or reads or whatever platform someone is on) but the best one is just putting out solid content. That's it. Solid, entertaining content. Steve does that, and it's why the channel is about to hit a million subs.
