I’ve been meaning to get back here for ages! A great pedal car find sticks in my mind as we return to "Antique Emporium" in the backwoods of Florida along I-75. This place known for stalwart antiques and classic vintage decor beckons us with a window full of beautiful 1920s-30s pottery, all on sale…what else will we find inside?
Unusual is fun in the antique mall universe, and this place has it…Latin American Santos, a space full of vintage boating/fishing items and an MCM space with several stunningly shaped 1950s Majestic lamps tempt us through the door from the showcase room into a vaulted two-story antique mall with atrium!
Signed 1980s designer Lucite stools contrast with an amazing, scarce Roseville lamp and a showcase full of Victorian majolica in this really well stocked and diverse antique mall! A fabulous artist-painted mannequin, elegant 1920s Chinese furniture and studio pottery we’ve never seen before add to the intrigue, alongside a host of antique and vintage wares better known to most of us.
It’s a fun stop at the beginning of a long journey that will eventually take us cross country! We buy a few good bargains and make a mental note that this isolated Irvine, Florida antique center should definitely be on our list for future shopping.

Oh gosh, had forgotten that my grandparents had tooth powder in their cabinet. 😮 When at their farm, they washed their socks in evening & slipped them on wooden sock forms to dry. I have a set of the wooden drying forns. I have them on our bathroom wall. Love them & the memory!

Good evening, George. Wow! Loved that Staffordshire nautical platter. That would likely tempted me beyond denying myself. The crucifix and other religious items would've had my attention. I often wondered why the cardboard advertisements weren't more sought after. I would think less of them survived than the metal ones. I liked the chenille floral artwork. There looked like a coal carving, in front of the spice rack. I have a large coal carving of a donkey pulling a cart loaded with coal, and the miner behind it. It has his lunch pail in the cart, too. I really liked the walnut etagere, and I'm needing some shelving right now.. Did you have space to put the barrister bookcase? That was a really good deal on it. There were several items there that really caught my interest. Thanks for taking us along!

I have a pachinko machine that my grandpa bought me when I was 3 in the 70’s. Montgomery Ward used to import them and sell them via their catalogs. I love it but have to admit it was a bizarre gift for a little kid. 😂

Thanks for your store tours. Sometimes I see things I once had. :)...had to edit here! I saw 4 diff things in this video I have. One being the glass owl..which me not being super wise on antiques was out in my garden! Has now come in:) lol

I completely agree with the high lighter thing. I have always thought about what you said. But I am retired law enforcement, so my mind still tries to stay a step ahead of the bad guys. 😊 I had a custom, self inking stamp made with my business name on it and 50% off when I’m ready to move merchandise.

23:29 THE LAMPS! I do like the MCM ones, but I just commented on your Florida booth refresh video (Andrea & Friends) that I recently bought one of those antique slag-glass lamps with the metalwork for my birthday. It's SO lovely. The scrollwork on mine reminds me of bats. And the warm, glowy light it gives off...divine.

I love all the things! And your commentary that I learn so much from! I have to say, Wyland is my favorite contemporary artist. I love his underwater seascapes even more than his sculptures. (I have tried my hand at painting after his style and was fairly happy with one I did, meeting a dolphin underwater. For just my own enjoyment of course.)

My mom had that chess set from Mexico in the 70's in blue and white onyx when I was growing up. I only have a few pieces left now - pieces broke and she threw it away one day and as a very enamored 8 year old boy I grabbed some of the pieces and kept them without her knowing. 😂 Not worth anything by themselves, but I have the memories. And wish I still had the full set! 🙄😔

I love your videos! The silver plated kissing fairies is not a cigarette holder, but is a powder/blush compact from Kerkoff in the mid 1920s. I just snagged my first one in March at an online auction for $36.00! Thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge with us! (Also, I just rented my first booth after selling on eBay for about a year. Are there any unwritten rules regarding pricing for a booth vs eBay? Would you steer me to a guidebook like site or publication? Please? Thank you for even reading my comment.)

George has done videos on selling on ebay . Do u know how to access his past videos ?i cant answer tho because i tried resell abt 2 weeks this winter and found its not simple ! And the free sites around here are stalked by vultures ! I really wanted to do local so i didnt need to ship ! I have 3 bathing suits i wanna try selling and hopefully they sell cause dumb if i have to donate back to thrift !
@TheAntiqueNomad
@TheAntiqueNomad Ай бұрын
Oh thank you! And thank you for explaining the powder/blush compact, I didn't recognize it correctly. You got a great deal! Unless you have really scarce/valuable things in your mall space, I would honestly consider pricing for a booth at your eBay selling price PLUS the shipping cost, if you are able. That way, the "I could get it for less online" argument is gone, but adding in the shipping cost means an item you'd get $20 + shipping for on eBay might be $30-35 in a mall...customer is paying the same either place.

Can anyone point me towards a sight like a worthpoint for a few items I can’t find through google? I don’t sell enough yet to be able to afford a membership. For now I’m just hanging on to the items that may have more value until I get started on eBay to try to auction them. Right now I’m only selling on Etsy but I hope to be starting eBay soon.
