The check raise on the QQQ hand was good because there is a flush draw, but you went too large. This is a $1/3 game, so you need to take into account her stack size, and how willing she has been about putting chips in the middle before this hand. If you had raised to say $65 and she had ~$200 behind, you could have set that up to jam the turn. Or she could have folded and you take down that a decent 20 big blinds, a nice padding to your stack. Enjoyed the vlog, and I can't wait to get back to National Harbor! I only stopped by there once but I loved it, especially the seats and the fact that it was 8-max, gives everyone leg room to breathe. Good luck out there!

I wanted to say I'm really impressed with your thought process...I do think like you said yourself that you need to be a little more aggressive pre and post flop especially with top pair and 9 to 10 plus kicker hands... You narrow the field and build the pot and charge more for weak chasers and draws... Like you said being aggressive accomplishes so many good things... Sure sometimes when you get sucked out on you lose more but we can't play with scared money...Ya gotta risk it for the biscuit! Nice results... You're def running hot 🔥

The KQcc hand is an interesting spot. I love your preflop open to 15 you want a larger sizing utg because you’ll be playing the hand out of position. I actually think the flop is where you could have chose a different path as opposed to the turn. With four callers preflop your pot is 60+. I think a larger sizing c bet being utg makes a lot of sense here. You went half pot which I think would be fine in later positions but utg I think closer to 3/4 pot makes sense to charge one pair draw combos like what the villain had. I actually like your check on the turn as you said it’s a super connected wet card and your check establishes solid pot control. You most likely ahead and you’ll know what you need to fade. The river has to be a fold unfortunately. You said it perfectly there is just nothing you beat. Any ace, k, q, 3,2 is a blank on that board texted any middling card is a fold to a large bet imo. Either way great hand and honestly I think your analysis was spot on and other than sticking in a larger c bet on flop and folding river I think you read the hand well. Mb For the QQ hand where you flopped the nuts I think a check call would maximize value on this hand because you have the queen of clubs. If you didn’t have queen of clubs you can mix in some check raises but overall you have so much of this board you need to allow them to keep some bluffs in.
@MacksBet285 ай бұрын
Your analysis on the kq hand is spot on. Being as so many draw was available betting like 45/50 makes only flush draws call and not one pair hands like j8 call down lol. And yes I agree with the qq hand I shoulda noticed the suits because my q club does heavily block alot of the flush combos kqc qjc qtc etc. Ty for watching and commenting you qualify btw

Thanks for sharing your sessions with us! On your 10d-9d hand, I'm not sure your half-pot flop bet with top pair is gonna fold out the random overcards, but that's probably fine. Was the villain claiming he had an overpair there? If so, he played it VERY passively. Keep up the great work MB

He didn't say what he had per say. Just that it was a necessary river. But I doubt an overpair would play that way. But in live poker you see crazy things 💯

On the KQ hand, your check on turn def wasn’t bad. It just feels worse because tue guy got there. The only hand that improves to stright in turn is T7 and 75, both are gap-connectors and T7 is a gut shot. So def not worried about straight there. But like you said, after the river, 2 pair and straights become much more likely. You could bet on turn and fold out some hands like J8 but it is by no means wrong to check back top pair there as well. I’d say bet 60%, check 40%.

Not a pro by any means but i think checking top set on that board is correct. Maybe make the check raise smaller. You want calls from flush or straight draws. Just my 2 cents. Make it 60-70 instead of 100? Maybe we're trapping top set on that board, we block top pairs. check raising bottom and middle sets?
@brendaklinger33395 ай бұрын
I agree with the above and I'm leaning towards maybe even a $25 to $40 bet or a check...I like betting even smaller because there are some people that if they catch that case Queen will put in the 4 bet themselves which works just like a check raise and if on the flush draw You're at least charging something and getting more money in the pot to keep them chasing future streets and if you happen to boat up and they hit there flush You're getting stacks in instead of a fold...
@MacksBet285 ай бұрын
I agree with both of you either trapping or a smaller raise is best blocking all the really strong hands. Bottom set a better candidate to go larger unblocking top pair
@N2Pker4 ай бұрын
KcQc hand - I think you make it $35+ to go preflop may have got him out early. You are UTG which is early position, he would have to put you on AK, you bet the flop he might call, but he would have to go away on the turn with another bet only holding an 8. This is all after seeing cards so you played it right to me as you don't know that he is going to hit a J on the river for two pair. MB

also, when you flop bottom set on A98, you should just be betting on the flop. You can't assume no one had an A bc it checked to you. BB could have one, and there is QT/JT/67 and 9x that may call a bet. You don't have to bomb it, but bet 10/15 is good. When you have a set unblocking top pair, your goal should be to start playing for stacks, and that wont happen if you don't put money in when checked to.
@MacksBet285 ай бұрын
Yeah I agree cause on turn when he called he didn't have to have a flush draw when he called so you right just gotta bet flop and maybe bigger bet on turn
@TheNow_Now5 ай бұрын
@@MacksBet28 yeah, also some decent players should check an A out of position and multiway and on that flop. Also, the BB has a lot of Ax, since they will defend almost all suited Ax combos lots of offsuit Ax ones too. With a hand like 88 there you just want to start figuring out how to get all the money in by the river, and with an SPR of 10, its not gonna happen unless you start betting flop. For example, with 300 to start the hand, pot is 30. Bet 15 flop, one caller, pot is now 60, with 275 behind. Turn bet 80, one caller, pot is now 220, with 195 behind, shove river.

I think on the KQ hand you can just bet the turn. Checking every now and then isn't bad, but, that assumes a player will bluff on the river, and players don't bluff/turn their bad pairs into bluffs enough, so I think the result is just loosing out on value, even if it is unbalanced. The turn 9 doesn't really change anything, other than 89 and K9. It gives a lot of hands more draws though, like 67/87/9T, and there are still all the flush draws that you unblock. So I like bet turn with possibility to jam river even on some blanks. The river call is also fine since its not a huge sizing. You have a good top pair, you beat some value, and all draws. You lost that hand, but KQ there is just a snap call
@MacksBet285 ай бұрын
That's an excellent analysis. Favorite point is the unbalanced part because to be honest playing live poker its best to play that way. I do think being in position I can bet the turn then evaluate the river if he calls. Thank you for that
