The drama behind the scenes in wrestling is so much more entertaining than the actual sport itself these days.

I've felt that way since.....I remember maybe a year before Scott Hall and Kevin Nash jumped to WCW in what.....'96? So this would have been maybe spring of '95 or so....I was 13 or so and at a WWF house show I was talking to these guys behind us before the show. I prided myself on being SMART at the time...and not to sound cocky but I've sort of always had a touch of Rainman in me, so I knew a lot about Wrestling and NOT a lot about algebra or biology or boring things like that....haha but pro wrestling was interesting to me so I learned any and every thing a SMART fan could. And this was pre-internet TRULY...sure there were SOME chats and things but we didn't have a P.C. for another year or two and dial-up at that. Well the guy behind me was preaching to a circle of fans...showing off how SMART he was...and that he clearly subbed to Meltzer's Observer to boot. I proudly held my own with him for quite some time until he told me that Razor Ramon and Diesel were headed to WCW and I believe there was rumor at the time that Bret Hart would be going too. Bret clearly didn't pan out but sure enough 10 months later or so and....Hey Yoooo!!! I was hooked and then a year or so later the IWC blew up!!! These days I couldn't tell you what matches took place at WrestleMania or NXT or what's going on with the WWE because I just don't follow it. I follow AEW to a much greater extent BUT I catch the show maybe 1 outta 4 weeks...maybe? And I realize it's cause to make fun and has been BUT I have followed TNA since the 1st ppv June 19th of 2002 in Huntsville Alabama from the Von Braun Center...and I've followed and been loyal to TNA/IMPACT WRESTLING ever since. So I enjoy shows like this and I do follow along with news about Impact but that's really it. But I would argue that I'm NOT even close to being alone....well I'm closer in being an Impact fan as there's maybe 16-17 more out there....but as far as BEHIND THE SCENES "smart fans"....with the inception of the internet wrestling community a BIG chunk, all of AEW's fans essentially are more into the backstage politics than the actual wrestling!

I hope that there is a pod-cast or a pod cast made, which topic was: Vince Russo and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in WCW - Before the Hulkster got fired from WCW, what went wrong between Russo and Hogan. Years later, Hogan had to deal with Russo, once again, in TNA Impact Wrestling (under the Dixie Carter / Jeff Jarrett (Global Wrestling Network) reign, not the new one with Anthem).

This was a good show. Hearing the stuff about Hogan refusing to let TNA work with Bret, and then Bischoff shitting on Bret to justify Hogan’s bullshit, was fascinating. Those two a real pieces of shit. It cost them in the end too, because who did WWE bring back and destroy TNA in the ratings with, on TNA’s first Monday night? Bret Hart. Over three times as many people watched Bret come back to WWE, than watched Hogan take TNA to Monday nights.

Although hogan is a legend and all that, this signaled he didn't have it anymore. Tna lasted a whole what? A month before tucking it's tail between its legs and going back to thursdays?

It wouldn’t have mattered. Panda and Dixie weren’t willing to give someone like him the control he needed to do that. He says on his podcast he didn’t go there to run their talent department because they wouldn’t give him the control over it he needed to run it his way. AEW now is a prime example that it doesn’t matter who you hire if you don’t listen to them and let them do their job effectively.

This is what’s hard with Russo. There are nuggets in his stories that are true. But he always throws in stuff like this that are pretty obviously untrue and it isn’t even needed in his story. And because of stuff like this you always have to take what he says with a grain of salt.
