We received 5,369 reports on bears from April 1-Dec. 31, 2019. One-third of those reports involved bears in trash. Over 500 of them had bears breaking into homes, cabins or garages. There was 300-plus reported vehicle break-ins.
Please help us keep Colorado's bears wild and alive by removing all attractants from your property. These human-bear interactions we documented last year are preventable if people take some simple steps around their homes to live responsibly with wildlife in mind.
